Bottle. Dark brown body with a creamy tan head. Spicy but tart aroma with caramel, nuts and some yeast. Flavour is tart, earthy, malty with notes of ripe dark fruit and ends up very peppery. Creamy mouthfeel. Very different saison.

Murky orange-brown in colour with a long lasting rust coloured head, excellent lacing. The aroma is lightly spiced, apples and peaches, light caramel sweetness. The flavour is mildly sweet, some chalkiness, light spice, some tea, very mild yeast. Lightly bitter mouthfeel, medium/light body, medium carbonation. Finishes lightly spicy, juicy and fruity.

Getting old - nearing five years. Body is starting to thin out but not showing signs of oxidization yet.

750ml bottle from the Premier Gourmet in Buffalo, New York.
Opened on August 7, 2008.
No date but purchased in November 2004.

75cl Bottle at home ... From Cornelias ... deep brown ... fairly big but short lived foam head ... slightly tart sourness in the nose... but it is a saison ... tart ...nutty with a little cherry ... quite a bit of appple ... little champain like ... decent

25 oz bottle, shared by acrdz. Pours a very hazy amber body with a fizzy foamy off-white head. The nose can only be described as Fantôme-like with lots of earthy yeasty farmhouse funkiness, lots of spices and some soft bready maltiness. Rather dry flavor, very yeasty and loaded with horseblanket funkiness and an almost chestnut like flavor. Finishes with some lingering herbal and yeastiness. Medium bodied, soft, but with nice lively fizzy carbonation. Pretty good, and certainly what I’ve come to expect from this brewery. Always decent but they never blow me away.

RBSG. Thanks to Dr Bill I assume. Pours cloudy brown with cherry, syrup, and smoke aroma and flavors. The finish is way too dry, but interesting.

Pours cloudy brown with a small tan head. Spicy finish with a light sour touch. This had a bit more malts up front then most Fantome offerings I remember, sort of a nutty and woody flavor that blends well with some spices and a soft herbal finish.

Thanks to stall for this!!! Beautiful deep bronze with a light brown head. Knock out aroma! Strong creamy vanilla with a sweet chocolate mix. Taste is awesome! Apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, weaker vanilla and fruitiness. Carbonation in the mouthfeel and on the tongue. The beer became hazier when the sediment was added. Wonderful beer.

From 75 cL bottle thanks to dr Bill. Pours murky brown with an unclean brown speckled tan head. Aroma is light woody and mild acidic. Seems oxidised. Flavour is mild woody, dark fruity and with light acidic touch. Mild spiced too. Ends with a woody and oxidised note. Past it’s prime by far, but nice to try!
