sunevdj (1765), Copenhagen OE, Denmark Mar 27, 2006 Pours a hazy amber with nice, off-white lacings. Slightly sour with some bitterness. Sour aromas of fruits. Also aromas of spices and yeast. Bitter finish. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 25, 2006 Hazy amber coloured with an off white head.
Light acidic aroma of fruits and spices.
Flavour of fruits and spices. chriso (4685), London, Greater London, England Feb 28, 2006 Bottle at the London Gathering, November 2005. Not bad, but I anticipated more from this brewery. Very murky appearance. More sour than saison - not really much earthy, farmyard character. More acidic, tart fruit. Distinctly yeasty with some spicy notes. Quite soft and not as imposing as expected. Not my favourite Fantome on this showing.
kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia Feb 24, 2006 LCRBM: Hazy amber/orange with a beige head. Spicy pepper nose. Honey, clean pleasant malts. Some esters bringing out the alcohol. Nice medium body. 21iceman40 (1731), vienna, West Virginia, USA Dec 12, 2005 reddish orange tint in this one. bitter red grapes in the aroma. Red grapes dough and chalk in the body. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England Nov 16, 2005 Bottle @ London Gatherying, Nov 05. Over yeasty with some spicy aromas which become somewhat unimportant in the body leaving a distinct lack of impression. maeib (4683), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Nov 15, 2005 Bottled at the Chris O Beer, Cheese and Curry powwow. A hazy amber coloured beer. The aroma is funky, spicy, peppery and full of nice bitter lemon notes. The taste is also sharp, lemony and funky. Very nice. Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England Nov 14, 2005 Bottle from Onlyfinebeer. I’m not the biggest fantome fan, this was citric, yeasty a little spicy and slightly sour.
