750 ml. into footed glass. Kind of underwhelming. Nothing about this beer stood out to me. After reading the description, I now know that the occassional spiciness underneath the dark, non-sweet chocolate malt is black pepper, but that flavor never came to mind while drinking. Smooth and quaffable, surely, but without any of the stand-out uniqueness I’ve come to expect from Fantome.

Bottle. Hazy golden body with a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Light lacing. Aroma of red apple, peppery spice and a faint sourness. Flavour of grass, minerals, plastic and orange zest. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Subtle and refreshing - quite Saison-like.

Bottle, may 17th 2015. Hazy orange body with a rather small white head. Aroma is flowery with pepper, herbs and chamomilla. Citric and grainy taste with a medium bitterness, low sweetness, mild funky finish. Fresh herbal aftertaste with a light sweet character.

(Fantôme BBB Dark White) Corked bottle 750 ml, served into a teku at home, ABV 4.7% Deep golden orange colour on the body, mostly clear, with good activity in it and a very tall and quite thick, white head on too. Very good retention, with light lacing left around the glass. Nice aroma with light citrus and orange peel, floral notes, light spices, faint yeast. Quite bitter taste with more citrus now, orange peel, light pine and resin, fresh grass, spices, floral notes, bitterness becomes stronger. Medium body with good carbonation, quite dry palate. Very good.

Âmbar turva, espuma amarelada de boa formação e média/pouca persistência, uniforme. No aroma predomina pimenta do reino, mascavo, leve alecrim, malte açucarado, leve lupulado, complexa.

Pours an amber body with a thin head. Faint funky aroma. Nice creamy taste which is totally destroyed by hop bitterness. Could have been good...

750mL bottle from Beer Cartel. Deep orange/gold with a huge creamy white head. Moderate aroma; citrus peel, dried apricot, pepper & woody spices. Full bodied, drying, lingering somewhat tannic sort of texture to it. Spicy body - very woody, dried herbs, bitter orange peel, slight herbal quality towards the end. Very dry finish, plenty of bitterness lingering with a touch of acidity. Packs a lot into a small Saison!
