750 ml. into footed glass. Kind of underwhelming. Nothing about this beer stood out to me. After reading the description, I now know that the occassional spiciness underneath the dark, non-sweet chocolate malt is black pepper, but that flavor never came to mind while drinking. Smooth and quaffable, surely, but without any of the stand-out uniqueness I’ve come to expect from Fantome.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours hazy amber with an off-white head. Aroma of spicy yeast, light funk and light tartness, caramel and toffee malts, some light dough and bread, and some light floral hops. Flavor the same with a cool blend. Average texture. A pretty cool beer but not perfectly balanced.

Bottled. Pours hazy, amber with an average, off-white head. Aroma of yeast, caramel, peppery notes, pineapple, flowers and citrus. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and slightly bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft carbonation. A nice Belgian.

Pours a hazy golden yellow from the bottle with fluffy off-white head that leaves good lace. Aroma and taste of funky farmhouse yeast with an underlying caramel and oxidized malt. Not sure how old this was, but had seen it sitting in the shelf for quite some time; probably very nice fresh but this didn’t age that well.

large creamy offwhite head. good lacing. mostly diminishing. hazy thick dark amber body. aroma: light malt, moderate hoppy, apple and pear. if: moderate sweet. ff: moderate sweet light bitter; long duration. palate: medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation, metallic moderate alcoholic finish. Aroma campestre, de Saison. Dulçor de mel, frutado. Background condimentado, apimentado. Álcool bem presente, forte, mas ainda assim percebe-se as nuances da cerveja. Sabor me remeteu a uma mistura de tripel e saison. No final o dulçor lembra geléia de laranja. 160 s

aleigator (219) - North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - AUG 12, 2014
Murky, hazy yellow, with a gentle head. Smells of cheese, grassy hops, cloves and vegetables with hints of rock sugar, sour milk and vinegar. Has a soft yeast beginning with spices all along. Amongst orange peel and herbal spiciness the taste evolves from a matured hop-bitterness to a gentle, stinging warmth on the palate. Both flavors, sourness and slightly sweet malts add complexity to the beer. While colliding on the tongue at first glance, flavors do come together just fine, due to the yeast supported spiciness. Fiery ending, with a slick, fermented bitterness crawling down the throat.

Bottle at Mother Kellys. Aroma is pepper, booze somehow, bruin type flavour, caramel, light hoppiness, bit of chocolate. Feels boozy which is pretty interesting.
