Slayer85 (979) - Firenze, ITALY - DEC 29, 2009
750 ml bottle. A hazy dark golden beer with an average sized, creamy and mostly lasting white head. Clean and rather fresh aroma, balanced, moderetaly yeasty and malty, lightly to moderately hoppy. There are notes of toasted grains, flowers, herbs, grass, spices (pepper) and fruits (lemon, orange and maybe strawberry). Complex aroma. The flavour is moderately sweet, lightly to modrately acidic, lightly bitter. Again a good balance and perhaps sweeter than other Fantomes and less extravagant, but with its character. Medium body (but stronger than the average Fantome), lively carbonation, dry long finish with medium bitterness. Similar to the classic Fantome, wonderful.

Uber cheesecloth funk, doughy yumminess, brett tartness, and lemon citrus. The quintessential bretted saison.

Cloudy yellow pour with a small head. Aroma and flavor are absolutely incredible; fantastic brett presence, cheesecloth, bread, and floral notes. An exquisitely balanced and complex light bretted saison. Insanely good.

Bottled. Cloudy golden, faint head. Funky citric winegum aroma. Quite dry and juicy with slender body. Intriguing flavours of tropical fruits, winegums and white pepper. Low bitterness. Nicely drinkable, funky full flavoured saison - typical Fantôme style.

Bottle from Belgium. Super floral, tart, tomato and white pepper aroma, with subtle notes of oregano, clementine. Typical out of control Fantome complexity that seems to mix with no hesitation sourness, florals, herbals, and fresh fruit of every exotic variety imaginable. I love it. The mouthfeel is bright and bready, with a funky, fruity, full-bodied and lovely yeast. Pear and grass hit in the finish with fleeting notes of earthy mushrooms. Whoa.
