jarspag (593), Los Angeles, California, USA Mar 4, 2008 3rd Annual Woodshop Tasting, 3/1/08. Thanks Chris! 2005 750 ml bottle. Solid brew! Interesting flavor wraps up a fruity chocolate, spice, oak, some vanilla, caramel. An enjoyable beverage. JoeinUccle (902), Brussels, Belgium Feb 13, 2008 An ancient bottle from 1997. There was some oxidation, but overall I think it kept surprisingly well. Poured dark brown with an off-white head that started big but faded to a persistent film. Very earthy, musty nose with some dark chocolate notes. Flavor was quite tart and vinous, fruity and sour...not in a bad way. Dark, plummy fruit character. No real bitterness. Very interesting. Hope to try a fresher one soon. yobdoog (1425), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Jan 30, 2008 Its been a while since I had this. Rating from notes and memory. Very nice dark color. Aroma of plums, cherry, sugar making it a bit sweet and sour. Very pleasant to drink. Some nice red wine characteristics and some barrel come through too. Very nice overall. Brouwser (119), gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jan 19, 2008 Booo…Ark!
moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA Jan 4, 2008 Shared by miketd. Thanks! Almost black body with little head. Nice sour aroma mixed with what seems to be rye and spices. The flavor follows with a hint of black pepper, some unripe fruits, and chocolate melding together for a nice flavor. Nicely done. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Oct 28, 2007 Bottle. Black colour with no head. Aroma of yeast and spices., also flavour of yeast, caramel and spices. Ends up quite alcoholic.
