Commercial Description:
Once described as a Belgian Irish-style stout, Black Ghost has undergone lots of changes over the years. It now bears no resemblance whatsoever to a stout, and brewer Dany Prignon has begun adding spices to the beer. What they are is anybody's guess...the Fantôme confounds once again.

A hazy red beer with a beige head. The aroma is spicy with notes of grass, thyme, and sage. The flavor is malty with loads of spices.

(Bottle 75 cl) Courtesy of Ungstrup. Pours a hazy, dark brown with an orange hue. Head is completely absent. Lightly tart, spicy nose. A little thin and almost completely flat. No real malty feel - just this weird acidity. Must’ve been a bad bottle. 280907

Murky chestnut colour. Aroma show smoke, brown sugar, plums, dates. Dry woody, funky flavours abound, with plum again, and slight toffee and a faint hint of acidity. It’s also quite yeasty. Despite all this, it failed to have the same life to it that many other Fantomes do. Tough to explain, but it lacked the intangible greatness that many of Dany’s other beers have.

Opaque dark brown, with creamy light tan head. Aroma is slightly roasty, moderately sweet, cocoa and cherry. Taste has strong cherry sourness that’s a little overdone, and finishes chocolate.
