Commercial Description:
Once described as a Belgian Irish-style stout, Black Ghost has undergone lots of changes over the years. It now bears no resemblance whatsoever to a stout, and brewer Dany Prignon has begun adding spices to the beer. What they are is anybody's guess...the Fantôme confounds once again.

Rich brown with a lasting tan head. Odd yeasty malty spicy aroma with lots going on but I had a difficult time knowing exactly what it was. Sour tartness tempered with some citric yeastiness and woody maltiness. Nice.

earthy dark brown with a fairly full brown head. Aroma is malty and fruity. Dark fruits, yeast, wheat, and some sweetness, all pervaid in the nose. Flavor is tangy and astringent. Sharp musty malt flavor with some backgroung bitterness. Earthy and dusty flavors, very complex with deep fruitness throughout. Medium to full body and very smooth and drinkable. Quite active, efverscient and at the same time, spicy.

Bottle from Dilly Deli. Poured clear dark brown color with a large fizzy brown head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Aroma was as complex modetate spicy nutty sweet and alcohol. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy dark fruit bittersweet flavor with a heavy bittersweet finish with medium alcohol bite. Good strange brew.

Thanks to Dave at By The Bottle for this brew! Poured a deep brown-grey body with a nonexistent head/ Spicy, peppery, smoky body. Peats, dry papery nose. Good, gripping, gritty mouthfeel. Some chocolate, oak, nut, vanilla, fruit, pepper flavors. Complex and ripe. Quite tasty. Thanks, Dave!

Bottle, pour an amber brown body with a tan head. Spicy yeast y pepper corn and dill. Dried fruit and a mild acidic yet slightly sweet with a chocolate malt character. Nice bottle to share.
