COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"With joy and a little bit of mischief, Fantôme brewer Dany Prignon dedicates this very bitter beer to all of the many varieties of brise-bonbons - literally, ball-breakers - in the world. Specifically, this beer is meant for wise-guys, braggarts, pains-in-the-ass, muck-rakers, troublemakers, know-it-alls, stuffed-shirts, blow-hards and bores, as well as nut-cracking, wind-bag, prattling-on, self-appointed experts on everything, and nose-in-the-air snobs, convinced they can do anything better than you. Dany intended to make a beer too bitter for a normal person to enjoy. The problem is, everyone loves it! Guess we’re all just a bunch of brise-bonbons sometimes..." - Shelton Brothers

750 ml bottle. Served in a Unibroue tulip, the beer pours a cloudy golden/orange color with about an inch and a half off-white head. Head retention is good, and there’s a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like peppery spice, earthiness, oranges, lemon peel, and some hay. It tastes like citrus (oranges, lemons), peppery spice, yeast, earthiness, grass/hay, pears, apples, funk and some bready malt. Mouthfeel/body is medium, it’s smooth and has a good amount of carbonation. I liked this brew a lot, it’s yeasty, spicy, fruity and good! I’d like to try this one again in the future. $13.99 a bottle.

750ml bottle. Typical fantome yeast character, rubbery, weird, its not bad considering 8%.

Bouteille: Deep golden, hazy,mid-sized white head; dryish grainy-dusty nose with a touch of alcohol and an orangey fruitiness; dryish bitter-sweet flavour, medium to full bodied; slightly lingering bitter herbal-hoppy finish with a lingering sweet-fruity aftertaste. Not mindblowing, but pretty good...
