3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 adamjackson (1230) - Lyme, New Hampshire, USA - APR 30, 2013
2011 Bottle at 60F in a Fantome Tulip. Thankfully not a gusher
A - Poured a big pillowy-intensely sticky white head that diligently stuck around. The beer itself was a light orange, plenty of haze
S - Chili peppers with a touch of honey and floral notes. I get a "next morning campfire" ashiness on the nose as well.
T - Interesting. Despite the ashiness, there is a nice lemongrass taste with a bit of lactic tartness and horseblanket funk, ashy yet peach like finish with some dry tannins thrown in for good measure. My favorite part about this is the lemony citrus.
M - medium body with a big carbonation, very dry finish
O - Interesting ale. I like this quite a bit and it was enjoyable throughout.
3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Swaroga (792) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 28, 2013
75cl bottle. Hazy yellow/orange with medium head. Nose : strong fruity notes of banana, lemon, red berry, red cherry, orange. Hay, tart, candy. Sip : strong carbonation, mouthful with creamy body. Low density. Sweet and fruity with notes oh hay and esters. Develops dry and finishes with mild bitterness. It's not that bitter as promised on the label. Still refreshing and easy to drink. Nice.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Lilja (952) - Malmö, SWEDEN - JAN 28, 2013
Speciell på många sätt. Dofta ladugård och gödsel. Syrlig smak med eftersmak av hö, blött gräs, vått trä och svettig gymnastiksal. Annorlunda är bara förnamnet.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 Martinus (1791) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - JAN 23, 2013
Slightly hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of malts, smoke, band aid, ash and apricot. Smoky flavour, light sour touch. Light astringent finish, quite a bit of smoke, some malts.
The 3nd beer in the Fantôme tasting spree. As it is not bitter at all, I assume the ghost has foreseen it was time for a change in recipe.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Benzai (4345) - Oirschot, NETHERLANDS - JAN 19, 2013
Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2013. Hazy murky yellowish color, medium to full sized white head. Smell and taste malts, some smoke, paint and a slight sourness. Ok body, medium carbonation.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20 teorn88 (1198) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 3, 2013
It pours an apricot like colour with a large slightly off-white head. Aroma is yeasty, smoky, lots of lemon citrus, light alcohol, flowers.
Flavour is light sweet, some peppery spice, oranges and apricots. Ashes and smoke upfront.
Second unexpectedly smoky beer in a row from Fantome. Change of recipes? Anyways, very tasty and pleasant overall.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Reynolds314 (1480) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 30, 2012
May be a bit of an old bottle because I dont get an EXPLOSION of hops as the description leads me to believe. I do however get a nice well made saison with tons of musty doughy character and a nice herbal hoppyness to it. Good stuff.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ernesto987 (2375) - Connecticut, USA - DEC 28, 2012
smells musty and dank, sweet and lots of pils and light malts, interesting and light
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Huhzubendah (1980) - Washington DC, USA - DEC 6, 2012
Bottle shared by Darrell. Thanks man.
Sampled alongside twenty other Fantôme beers.
The beer appears very hazy and light yellow hued, with a finger of white head and some decent lacing on the snifter. The aroma brings citrus, funk, yeast, and a nice potpourri of spice. Brise-BonBons is a bit funkier than most Fantôme brews. Funky citrus with spice in the flavor. Lingering funk and yeast. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a tasty saison. Recommended.
