Commercial Description:
With joy and a little bit of mischief, Fantôme brewer Dany Prignon dedicates this very bitter beer to all of the many varieties of brise-bonbons - literally, ball-breakers - in the world. Specifically, this beer is meant for wise-guys, braggarts, pains-in-the-ass, muck-rakers, troublemakers, know-it-alls, stuffed-shirts, blow-hards and bores, as well as nut-cracking, wind-bag, prattling-on, self-appointed experts on everything, and nose-in-the-air snobs, convinced they can do anything better than you. Dany intended to make a beer too bitter for a normal person to enjoy. The problem is, everyone loves it! Guess we're all just a bunch of brise-bonbons sometimes...

Cloudy blond color. Medium aroma, cellar, lemon peel; interesting. Thin body, with a difficult flavor: pepper, harsh citrus fruits, astringent... Too much yeast. Wrong.

Bottle. Hazy golden with floaties. Sour, yeasty mouldy aroma. The flavour is sour, tart and herby with some yeast and a pleasant bitterness.

[bottle] Strong minty herbal hop aroma.. funky fruit, yeast and more hops. Reddish amber color, cloudy, with very tight foam and lacing. Flavors are saison-ish? Cheesy.. musty malts. Slightly tart, peppery. Massively hopped towards the finish. My first Fantôme experience, I can say the yeast character is really unique. I like it a lot. I’m going to have to seek out some more of these.

Pretty solid hop aroma, with some classic fantome aroma, almost a little pepperminty. Pours golden blonde. Very hoppy for Fantome, has that classic Fantome flavor that i can never really put my finger on! Its almost minty, but not really. Really good though, with a little pine and citrus flavor. Great beer!

What a great name for a beer "ball-breakers." A quality, well balanced saison....beautiful cloudy golden, yeasty, a little citrus, great carbonation, easy drinking like a good saison should be. Get some.

750ml bottle from boboski. Pours cloudy honey orange with a dense white head, in one glass I poured a perfect 1/2 inch, in another, it climed up to 3 inches, so it all depends on how careful you are. The nose is a wonderfully arid and dusty clover and beachwood yeast scent, with notes of floral spice and tart, dry lemon pepper. Mellow, even mouthfeel up front, moderately heavy, with flavors of dry wood and airy floral yeast, turning tart over the middle and finishing with a spicy, festive, dry and salty orange and lavendar flavor. Amazing stuff, and possibly one of the best Fantome’s I’ve had. Do rich and dusty and arid, yet spicy and slightly fruit as well. Awesome.

Cloudy to muddy orange with a lasting & fluffy white head. Hoppy, herbal, sweet & fruity. Spicy & I will mention the hops again. Fresh & crisp! Super fantome!

Purcahsed at Ashur Liquor. This is a very old and expired beer but i mean i still got a taste of what it was and could of been. Had a ton of yeast aromas and flavors but sadly it was mostly dead yeast now and very tart and putrid to taste in my mouth. Oh well, not a beer i see often so i mean what can i do.
