mcbackus (725), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Aug 20, 2007 bottle courtsey of boboski thanks for a great night of beers. pours an orange colour with thin white head. aroma of sweet wildflower honey, some funkiness and yeast, slight lemon tart. flavour is a bit bitter with funk, lemon like flavour, finishes with some more bitterness. TheCheeseMan (538), Saint Cloud, Florida, USA Aug 19, 2007 Guess who? Thanks again bobo. Pours a very hazy orange color, head is rocky and creamy. Aroma is full-on funk-a-licous, lemon zest, orange and some sweet tangerines coming through, I could smell this one for days. Flavor is spicy and wierd, in a very good way. This was a style of beer I was not to familiar with, but it is rapidly turning into one of my very favorites. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Aug 17, 2007 Pours a hazy orange with a frothy white head. Smells of the funk, orange juice citrus, Fantome yeast, and lemon. Very refreshing smell. Highly enticing. The taste is highly citris, with a mild acidity. Big orange and lemon mixed together. Not really sweet, more of orange peel, or skins. There is definitely alot of spice here, a little pepper in the finish, but nothing too hot. Tingles the taste buds a bit. Just funky and wierd, typical Fantome. I love it! Another high quality brew from these guys. Floback (333), Naples, Florida, USA Jul 28, 2007 Enjoyed at near room temperature. Poured hazy orange-gold with substantial white head and a nice cleft net of lace. Nose is very subtle with notes of rose and cereal. Tastes gather in strict Fantome fashion. Plenty of barnyard hay, subtle citrus, grains, some cashew, and well-balanced bitterness. Medium carbonation. I don’t expect anything but the best from Fantome. tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Jul 26, 2007 Bottle. Pours dark gold. Very soft and delicate aroma. Violets and roses. Peaches and apricots. A tad soapy. A bit of dryness on the palate but the hops are used here more for aromatics than bitterness. Like other Fantomes, the nose is outstanding. A very pleasant saison. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA Jul 24, 2007 Pours an attractive slightly dark golden color with a uniform thin white head. Aroma gives off bits of honeyed musk, herbs, fresh soil, none of them strong, but subtle and pleasing. Tart-bitter start to the taste, then sweet grains and a slightly dusty sourish finish. At first nothing jumps out at you since the smells and tastes aren’t real intense, then the finer qualities come out, and I realized I really hadn’t had a brew quite like this (even a saison). I too should’ve tried this when fresh. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 23, 2007 2004 bottle - Golden color with a smaller, but pillowy white head. Aroma is sweet with some citrus, light grains, herbs, and a faint hop aroma. Flavor is lighter and smoother than most Fantomes, but the heavier hop flavor still remains. Lots of grain, some flower and grass, a bit of spice and citrus/light summer fruits. This must have been better when fresh. Nice one from Fantome - a bit more mainstream and less funky than most of their beers. A nice summertime Saison.
