Commercial Description:
With joy and a little bit of mischief, Fantôme brewer Dany Prignon dedicates this very bitter beer to all of the many varieties of brise-bonbons - literally, ball-breakers - in the world. Specifically, this beer is meant for wise-guys, braggarts, pains-in-the-ass, muck-rakers, troublemakers, know-it-alls, stuffed-shirts, blow-hards and bores, as well as nut-cracking, wind-bag, prattling-on, self-appointed experts on everything, and nose-in-the-air snobs, convinced they can do anything better than you. Dany intended to make a beer too bitter for a normal person to enjoy. The problem is, everyone loves it! Guess we're all just a bunch of brise-bonbons sometimes...

Bottle at CT4 shared by sliffy, thanks! Yellow-orange pour...hazy with a fizzy white head. Aroma of lemon, lemon zest, least, light mint and a tinge of funk. The flavor was spicy, more lemon/lemonzest, yeast and light malt. Pretty light body, a bit creamy as well with lively carbonation.

A nutmeg christmas aroma. Taste is creamy and a little thick, with some vanilla. Yet another solid Fantome offering. No. 51.

A change of pace for Fantome, this hazy orange-bodied saison emphasizes the bitter end of the potpourri spectrum, with a well-developed blend of perfumey flower petals, and even hints of cinnamon. As in most of the brewer’s saisons, I pick up characteristics of yarrow and caraway. Very nice.

amber body with large, beige head..nose of belgium yeast, bready and biscuity, as well as a zesty citrus element...flavor is very different than its aroma: very woody and spicey, herbal, bready, grainy, and has some sort of vitamin/mineral finish..smooth palate

750 ML bottle. Apricot orange/yellow with a huge white fluffy head. Aromas of citrus, pear, and pepper. More of the same in the flavor, but somewhat subdued. Decent bitter finish: sweet grapefruit with pepper. Very Interesting. Pretty Good

(Rating #713)
