Commercial Description:
With joy and a little bit of mischief, Fantôme brewer Dany Prignon dedicates this very bitter beer to all of the many varieties of brise-bonbons - literally, ball-breakers - in the world. Specifically, this beer is meant for wise-guys, braggarts, pains-in-the-ass, muck-rakers, troublemakers, know-it-alls, stuffed-shirts, blow-hards and bores, as well as nut-cracking, wind-bag, prattling-on, self-appointed experts on everything, and nose-in-the-air snobs, convinced they can do anything better than you. Dany intended to make a beer too bitter for a normal person to enjoy. The problem is, everyone loves it! Guess we're all just a bunch of brise-bonbons sometimes...

Bottle with an interesting label. I saw this when I was out of town and I forgot to get one, but the other day when I went to my local store there was one there, so I scooped it up. Pours an orange color with a massive head on it. Smells sweet and kind of rank, not really going to give it much in the way of points on smell. Taste is smooth and refreshing, not so hoppy as the label claims. This is an average saison at best.

Robe orange voilée surmontée d’une mousse beige en dentelle qui persiste. Arômes de poivre, et de levure. Saveurs de poivre, de poussières, de levures, de céréales et de houblon aromatique épicé.

From C&C 750. Pours a hazy orange with huge, foamy off white head. Nose has lots of spice, light floral/citrus with hints of malt. Flavor is fruit rind bitter, with a grapefruit aftertaste. Palate is creamy. Enjoyed this one.

Corked and capped 750 with gputty. Hazy orange-gold, big off white head. Nose is bitter orange, spicy, some grassyness. Thick foamy lace. Creamy mouthfeel, but lively all the same. Bitter orange flavors, musty. Odd, herbal bitter finish.

750mL, no date. Pours a hazy orange with a one finger fading creamy eggshell head. Very strong spicy, peppery, and grassy hops. Also some yeast, apples, light banana and apricots, a little earthy and musty. More tart than the aroma leads on, with some peppery bitterness in the middle and a dry dirt finish. Flavor is predominantly fruity with some funk and dust. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Could not tell that this was 8% ABV.

Slight hazy honey gold hue, with a rocky white head, yeasty, fruity nose of rape apples, strawberries, starfruits, spicy accents of nutmeg, coriander, hint of licorice, floral herb, subtle hay in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, dry medicinal herbs, with marjoram, rosamary, clover, and a floral hops grassiness and rapini bitterness, with some mild fruity notes of lemony zest, peach, oranges, leading towards a dry herbal and flowery hops bittering finish.

I’ve never taste a beer like that one before. It was a good experience but not tempted to buy it again. did not like the type of hop they used. Cloudy amber body with a thin head. Taste of citrus fruits, vinegar and herbs. Very bitter and very dry at the end

Glowing yellow with a rich creamy head. Definitely has more hops on the nose than the typical saison. Smells like it belongs with all those other earthy and ephemeral scents. Substantial body, especially for a saison, which I think can run too thin sometimes. This is hop-heavy for the style but it all still balances out.
