Commercial Description:
With joy and a little bit of mischief, Fantôme brewer Dany Prignon dedicates this very bitter beer to all of the many varieties of brise-bonbons - literally, ball-breakers - in the world. Specifically, this beer is meant for wise-guys, braggarts, pains-in-the-ass, muck-rakers, troublemakers, know-it-alls, stuffed-shirts, blow-hards and bores, as well as nut-cracking, wind-bag, prattling-on, self-appointed experts on everything, and nose-in-the-air snobs, convinced they can do anything better than you. Dany intended to make a beer too bitter for a normal person to enjoy. The problem is, everyone loves it! Guess we're all just a bunch of brise-bonbons sometimes...

Pours wtih a slightly cloudy orange body topped by a medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It’s slightly sweet and slightly bitter wtih a grassy note, some yeastiness and a slight touch of toffee. Light to medium and dry.

Murkey honey color. Like Honey dried in a fridge. White medium head frothy and dissipates relatively slowly. Nose has hints of apple honeysuckle, malt. Hardly as bitter as the commercial label describes. However, the more of the bottle you drink the more bitter it gets for some reason. Slight caramel at the front of the flavor. Complex notes throughout. Seems to dance between slightly sweet and sour notes in the middle. Aftertaste is a nice grapefruit rind. Available in small quantities at Colonial Spirits, Acton.

Pours hazy orange with a medium head very small by fantome standards. Aroma of vanilla, cream, hay, malty sweetness. Flavor is sweet upfront with light caramel, tea, light vanilla, mild citrus, cream, and hay. A growing bitterness arrives in the finish. Medium body that becomes slightly thin at the finish. Slightly creamy palate with a notable fizziness with on the tongue.

Bottle 750ml. hazy golden orange w large white head. Aroma is farmhouse saison, sour apples, clovey, teakwood. Flavor is citrusy, with a trace of teakwood, peat, & coriander. The cork smelled of wild mushrooms. Very nice but I thought it tasted a bit green, too fresh.

Poured a cloudy orange/amber color body with a signature white head. The aroma is a mild, slightly barny, yeast. The flavor is lemongrass, mild bananas, and some light honeydew. A very enjoyable Saison!

750ml bottle. Intriguing fruity, herbal aroma, very lightly sweet with notes of green, leafy, herbal and citric hops along with lighter suggestions of powdered sugar, hay, faint wood and cellar must. Golden amber in color, initial pour is quite clear with a massively frothy and lasting head. Flavor profile is, for the most part, bitter, citric and lightly tart, some lemon, grapefruit, leafy herb and hop spice noted as well, leading to a dry, cleansing, yet long lasting finish that is also full of yeast character. Highly effervescent palate but is still fairly smoothly rendered and quite drinkable. Body is fairly full. An interesting creation, as is this brewer’s way.

I could smell the Belgian yeast, the aroma was sweet and fruity. t was a very cloudy amber color. To me the flavor was that of a sour apple. The mouthfeel was just a little bit stick. Overall, it was very good.

Dutch Ratebeer Gathering. Hazy dark orange coloured. In the aroma some notes of wild-fermentation shine through, although i doubt whether this is intentionally. Some sourness, dryness, yeast and a lot of hops. Very odd combination of all kinds of flavours. Overdone imho.
