Commercial Description:
With joy and a little bit of mischief, Fantôme brewer Dany Prignon dedicates this very bitter beer to all of the many varieties of brise-bonbons - literally, ball-breakers - in the world. Specifically, this beer is meant for wise-guys, braggarts, pains-in-the-ass, muck-rakers, troublemakers, know-it-alls, stuffed-shirts, blow-hards and bores, as well as nut-cracking, wind-bag, prattling-on, self-appointed experts on everything, and nose-in-the-air snobs, convinced they can do anything better than you. Dany intended to make a beer too bitter for a normal person to enjoy. The problem is, everyone loves it! Guess we're all just a bunch of brise-bonbons sometimes...

750 from Mckean and Charles. Shared with my girlfirend Cyn. Pours cloudy gold with a big white bright white head. Nose is sweet and bitter. taste is very interesting with lots of black pepper and a lot of bitterness. This is interesting and overall a unique saison.

Clear layered orange yellow with a thin sheen. Good aroma is salty with dry hay and dry spice. Medium body. Flavor starts a bit tart on the tongue with dry wheat, then some funky barnyard in the middle with a citrus and coriander spice to finish. Another tasty anything but the sink Fantome brew.

750 ml split in Duvel glass. Pale straw with lasting head and lace. Lemon bread and spice aroma. Medium lemon tart yeasty sweet fruitiness with citrus bitterness and very dry finish. Medium-light body, especially for abv, medium carbo. Complex refreshing and delicious. I had never tried it before and I absolutely love it. One of my favorite beers in one of my favorite styles.

Muddy orange pour with a minimal white head. Slightly acidic apple juice and yeast in the aroma. Sweet in the taste with notes of citrus and apple juice. Yeasty with funky characteristics. Earthy and farmhouse-y. Kind of a muddy flavor all-in-all. Soft, semi-creamy body. Finish is lightly sour and semi-dry. Overall, enjoyable but not worth $15.

(Belgium) Courtesy of AFI96, Thanks Waylo. Pours a hazy amber color with a med white head. Aroma is of lemons and some spices, with a grapefruit / funky cheese taste. So far i am a fan of the Fantome, But this is the second one that i did not like. I just hope the next 2 that i have are much better than this.

750 ml bottle from SBD. Pours a very cloudy-murky amber with small white head that soon fades away. The aroma is a bit tart with barnyard funk, musty fruits and Belgian yeasts. The flavor is tart-sour with musty fruits, sweet biscuit and biter walnuts. The mouthfeel is a bit on the thin side with lively, prickly carbonation. The finish is long with lingering citrus. Overall: A very tasty Saison.
