"With joy and a little bit of mischief, Fantôme brewer Dany Prignon dedicates this very bitter beer to all of the many varieties of brise-bonbons - literally, ball-breakers - in the world. Specifically, this beer is meant for wise-guys, braggarts, pains-in-the-ass, muck-rakers, troublemakers, know-it-alls, stuffed-shirts, blow-hards and bores, as well as nut-cracking, wind-bag, prattling-on, self-appointed experts on everything, and nose-in-the-air snobs, convinced they can do anything better than you. Dany intended to make a beer too bitter for a normal person to enjoy. The problem is, everyone loves it! Guess we’re all just a bunch of brise-bonbons sometimes..." - Shelton Brothers

This is my favorite offering from this brewery. I prefer the heavily hopped, well-attenuated interpretation of saison over the spice teas that are usually done by this brewery. This one has a nice aromatic and palate dryness that makes it dangerously drinkable at 8% ABV. Before I knew it, I was at the end of the bottle and craving some more.

Tasted at one of the first Zythos Bierfestivals. Dark bronze beer with thinnish, off-white head; candied orange, sourish accent as in most of Fantôme’s brews, spicy, yeasty; sweet and spicy main taste, quite complex, fruity accents, smooth caramelly malt sweetness, funky accents, yeast bitterish and herbally hoppy finish. One of the brews that prove Fantôme can come up with great things, weird as they may be.

Bottle at RBSDG at the Dad Pad. Pours a hazy amber gold with a thin to medium sized white head. Sweet citrus peels and musk, bright and vibrant, lemon and herbs. Medium bodied, spicy right away, yeast and spice. Long musky finish with a hint of melon into a yeasty bitterness. Lovely.

More malty taste than a classical saison and more body either. Still having a delicious yeasty-citrous taste. So goood!
