thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Feb 1, 2008 This bottled brew from Patrick767 at a rating party poured a small sized head of foamy white colored bubbles that were and left behind a very hazy softly carbonated dark and a good lacing. The aroma was musty mild chocolate and farmhouse. A decent one that I would consider having again. beermouth (434), Langeskov, Denmark Jan 31, 2008 Cloudy brown with slihgt orange colour and small offwhite head. Sour and earthy with good citrus and chocolate taste.(weird kind of chocolate) Bit sweet and a malty.. NOT A TYPICAL FANTOME Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy Jan 30, 2008 Bottled (750 ml). A hazy and muddy orange beer, with lots of sediments and a small and fast disappearing white head. Lightly acidic aroma, with yeasty notes and oprange, lemon, herb. I don’t detect any chocolate. The flavour has amedium sourness, some citris fruits again, but again no traces of chocolate, or maybe only a hint in the finish. Medium body, average/lively carbonaton, very dry typical Fantome finish with moderate bitterness. Surely a good product, but not the best from this brewery. Dedollewaitor (3622), Odense, Denmark Jan 22, 2008 Another weird experience with fantome: 75cl bottle purchased at Beertempel, Brussels. Tasting@beermouth. Muddy brown with a off white head. Sour & dirty aroma - typical fantome. Earthy notes, thin body. A touch of sweet malts. As i had a few extra sips the beer grew on me. But again slightly disappointed with fantome! Cletus (4999), Connecticut, USA Jan 13, 2008 Pours a cloudy amber with a nice lingering white head. Smells of hay, lemons, old farm barns, touches of meadows and wheat. Taste blends touches of spicy pepper, a hint of chocolate on the back of the tongue, lemons, straw, and earthy. Mouthfeel is full with a finish that shows off white a touch of heat in the back of the throat. More chocolate cocoa bitterness and a touch more heat would be welcome, but this has that classic Fantome house dryness that I love. Indra (2018), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA Dec 30, 2007 750ml bottle. Intriguing aroma, some faint cocoa framing the faint spices and yeasty tones, with notes of clove, banana, whipped cream, caramel, flowers, even some faint chili. Really interesting opaque tan color, the head largely dissipating, not much lacing. Flavor is similar to the aroma but with a definite sourness, some lactic touches giving a dry impression, very spicy overall, surprisingly bitter at the end. Some woody notes and dried flowers late. Active mouthfeel, sharp and tingly. Alcohol presence is negligible. Really nice, unique creation. Bov (5403), Bienne, Switzerland Dec 28, 2007 from belgianshop.com - cloudy reddish-brown colour with absolutely no foam; aroma of citrus, pepper and shy notes of chocolate; no carbonation, sweet and sour, thin-bodied; short and flat citrusy finish - a total failure; my first disappointement with this brewery so I think this beer is not supposed to taste like that f351c4v (404), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 21, 2007 Pours a cloudy, golden color with a small, white head. Funky aroma, lots of yeast, lemony zest. Light, fresh body, a touch creamy. Relatively sweet with a touch of citrus, some sourness in the middle, and a little spiciness on the finish. Not a bad brew, but not on par with other Fantome offerings.
