2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 OleR (3660) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 3, 2011
0,75L botte, brought home from Kihoskh, København. (Brewed with chocolate from Defroidmont, a local artisanal chocolatier) Cloudy gold, small blond top. Unusual aroma; Husky, herbal, with red jammy fruits, yeast and a note of cocoa. Unusual taste as well; Quite sweet with a lemony fruitiness, herbs, notes of ash and perfumed yeast. Bitter chocolate/cocoa is evident in the flavor, but quite subtle. Body is on the light side of medium full. Chalky texture. Sharpish fruity and cocoa-bitter endnotes. Absolutely drinkable, but a true weirdo.

75 cl bottle @ Delirium Café, Brussels. Rated on 18.07.2010
Aroma is tart with yeast and some sweet notes of chocolate and honey. Flavour feels sourish and tart with earthy notes, some metal and chocolate. Somewhat weird and not as good as I expected.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 lusikka (2533) - Tampere, FINLAND - SEP 16, 2011

Pours a hazy yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma of sour dried fruits and some orange. Flavour of sour dried fruits, weak spices, cocoa, quite high maltiness and also some hops. Medium bodied with a finish of dry sour fruits, spices and hops as well. Quite unusual saison.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 t0rin0 (44) - La Verne, California, USA - AUG 24, 2011
Had this a number of times over the years but these notes come from a 1 year old bottle (I believe) at a Fantome tasting June 2010. Pours amber, fairly clear for a Fantome, slightly off-white head that doesnt last long. Aroma is slightly skunked, a bit chocolatey (partly malt/adjuncts partly age), and a bit of citrus. Flavor is barely skunked at all (compared to the nose), lightly of chocolate, kind of light on the malts as well. Strange that this is 8% abv, the flavors are more mellow than I’d expect from the nose and the color. Body is medium. Enjoyable beer.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20 Leafs93 (976) - Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 10, 2011
Pours a brownish hazy gold. Aroma is spicey, earthy, cocoa and some breadyness. Taste is sweet, spicey and some cocoa bitters. For some reason this just works perfectly. Thanks to chalsk
