okay, trying this beer was a huge wtf-moment, i can only hope that this is not how the beer is supposed to be. therefore this rating might not reflect the "good" version. anyway here it goes ... a very beige slimy and extremely thick head that kept on growing after the beer was poured, it is wobbly almost like a jell-o pudding (wtf #1). it is amber coloured with some chunks floating, when they reach the top of the beer they get absorbed and expand the head further (wtf #2). stale, sour, unpleasant aroma with something that i can only describe as a "goat smell" (wtf #3). slimy mouthfeel, sour and stale. ok, this went down the drain. this bottle of the beer was a host to some kind of unwanted critters (pediococcus?). although an unusual experience, still interesting though. bottle 75 cl / lot c / bbf dec-14

Nome fuorviante per questa unica creazione. Colore dorato carico con schiuma bianchissima e corposa. Al naso ricorda molto le gueuze, con sentori di legno, di cantina e di acido lattico. Al palato si presenta completamente diversa, un cambiamento quasi miracoloso, carbonazione molto gradevole, corpo medio. Acida al punto giusto, offre note di limone, mandorla e legno. Finale asciutto che ripulisce la bocca, pronta a ricevere un altro sorso.. Ogni bottiglia è diversa dall’altra, ma impossibile non provarla..

750ml Bottle (Thanks Victor) - Hazy amber in colour. Vinous fruits, malt and a hint of cocoa in the aroma. Fruity, rich and tangy taste with dried fruit, spicy malt and cocoa. Like a saison/wine hybrid.

Une bière complètement à côté de la question, déséquilibrée au maximum, dont la lie se mélange beaucoup trop, et qui ne progresse jamais dans la longueur. Un vrai désastre, sans compter que le nom crée une grande confusion, parce qu’il n’y a absolument aucun goût de chocolat dans cette « bière », mais plutôt du vinaigre à grosse dose !!! Bref, on ne sait pas ce qui passe par la tête de certains brasseurs au niveau des recettes, mais là c’est grave... Arômes de citron, cire de meuble, citronelle, vinaigre acide, chili... 1ère bouche affreuse sans aucune noblesse, avec un arrière-goût de pommes de terre à la cuisson... 2ème très aigre et sur des épices amères. 3ème vers l’acide sans équilibre, avec une arrière-bouche sur le pain moisi … Longueur où rien ne change, linéaire et négative. Levure piquante, acide (on l’aurait deviné …). Finale nulle . Alcool sans intérêt. Et dire que je voulais fêter Pâques avec cette bière « chocolat ». Quelle déception !!! La Belgique peut faire des bières nulles aussi, mais heureusement c’est rare, et d’habitude c’est plutôt dans les pils … J’aurais mieux fait de prendre une pils … moi qui n’en prend jamais !!! Une bière à mettre à la décharge publique ...

75cl bottle. Hazy, clear brown/orange with very small head. Nose : hay, wet grains, citrus, clove, cooked fruits and vegetables. Funky stuff. Sip : water like density, oily texture and low carbonation. It strikes with sour and dry notes comparable to Lambic. It's delicately sweet and aromas of leather, cooked vegetable and fruits come out. It has a moderate bitter finish almost completely covered by dry zest. For some reasons it reminds an orange soft drink with no sugar. Funky.

Appearance: Clear golden with a small white head and spotty lacing
Aroma: Honey, paper, citrus and light peppers
Taste: Tart fruit, honey, apples and citrus
Good. Easy drinking, seems to have lost something over the years

This was poured from a 750 ml bottle, this has been aging for several years in my cellar. Slight spicy heat,int, apple, lemon, citrus, hay. This was not what I expected. Nice.

75cl bottle from Belgiuminabox shared with Steve.Amber orange pour with a small white head.Orange,citrus,yeast and spice aroma which all came through in the taste.No chocolate detected but there were little hints of chilli.Different,not quite right but reasonably tasty.

aroma: cereal, citrus, sweat, lemon apparenza: golden, hazy, minimal head, gusto: light sweetness, medium bitterness, heavily sour, palato: light body, creamy, soft carbonation, astringent, natale dell’elfo tira fuori questa birra che aveva "dimenticato" nel magazzino per 5 anni,dove l’aveva riposta perchè assaggiandola aveva avvertito tutto,tranne il cioccolato,reputandola andata a male.. in effetti la birra è superparticolare,ma di cioccolato c’è ben poco..aroma incredibilmente strano (probabilmente è per il fatto che non ho mai assaggiato birre acide)..acido,limone,sentori maltati,pelle,sudore,ma che roba è?? gusto identico,astringente,amaro,acido,poco frizzante..e il cioccolato???merita sicuro per l’estro del magico Dany (forever in my heart),da approfondire! bevuta all’elfo
