Pour out of 750 mL, 2011 bottle, thanks a ton! Hazy orange pour with nice white head, aroma brought notes of some slight vanilla, honey, slight biscuit, bread, and yeast, hints of slight funky fruit notes, hints of green tea notes. Taste is a mix of slight white fruit, biscuit, bread, slight biscuit, lots of odd funky fruity notes with lots of green tea, herbal notes, finishing slightly bitter. Tasty, but different.

mjs (4613) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 20, 2013
(Bottle, 0.75 l - 2011 Vintage, at HBF2013) The beer poured golden and orange. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, farmhous and honey. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, honey, sweetness, grass and bitterness. Afteraste was fruity and bitter. Does not taste like a Fantôme beer at all. A good beer but I feel cheated.

Tasted @ RBBWG 2013 thanks Eugene! pours a hazy orange/brown color with a nice white head. Smell is sweet malt, funk, yeast, spice. Taste is wood, yeast, citrus which ends dry and slightly bitter. Body is medium with creamy smooth carbonation. A nice elegant brew.

Cloudy orange to muddy brown beer, no noticeable head. Aroma: pretty fruity, peaches, bit sugary, soapy touch, citrus, floral. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: citrus, floral, bit soapy, fruity touches, hops, pineapple. Aftertaste: pretty grassy hops, citrus, fruity, bitter dry ending.

Orange golden colour, white head. Aroma of apricot, peach, light funky saison notes, yeast and candy sugar. Quite bitter flavour, malts, quite fruity. Spicy finish, fruity and floral notes.
The 7th and last beer in the Fantôme tasting spree. Amusing.
(From 75cL bottle @ RBBWG II, Wilrijk 2013. Courtesy of 77ships. Thanks Eugene!)

75cl bottle sample @ RBBWG 2013, courtesy of 77ships.

75 cl. bottle @ RBBWG 2013. Bottled in the same kind of Champagne bottles as 3F in their wake. When some brewers got the peculiar idea that it was the bottles and not the beer that were selling the 3F Armand 4 Series… maybe for a small part but they would have sold anyway. 2011 Version – so first batch? Hazy golden with a serious, firm white head. Smells of sweet peaches, floral, herbs, sharp spices, bit saez touch. Taste is bitter, floral, herbal with a lot of esters, clear fruit, peaches, very fizzy, Champagne-like carbonation, tad saez, makes me think of Duvel a bit, spicy yeast, very light funk, carbonation masks a bbit. Nice but was expeting a bit more – maybe it’s the bottle that threw me off?

Benzai (8246) - Oirschot, THE NETHERLANDS, NETHERLANDS - JAN 19, 2013
Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2013. Hazy murky yellow-orange color, small white to off-white head. Smell and taste slightly sourish, a bit peachy, yeasty. Typical Fantome. Ok, but not what I like.

OleR (4802) - Oslo, NORWAY - DEC 31, 2012
Shared bottle @Papsoe’s. A tall foamy head, quickly shrinking to a layer of beige bubbles. Cloudy, yellow-golden body. Clean, spiced yeast aroma. A fine funky sourness, with notes of lemon. Taste is sharpish citrus-zesty with mild spices and a certain refreshing tartness. Feels light in the mouth, despite the high abv. Prickling, champagne-like carbonation. Sharp mouth-drying ending.
