750 ml bottle. A cloudy orange beer, with a large, fizzy, mostly dimishing white head. The aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted bread), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs, apricot), moderately yeasty (dough, earth, basement, barnyard, mold/must), with notes of lemon, oranges, tropical fruits, pepper. The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, fizzy carbonation, very long finish with medium bitterness, lightly alcoholic. Very fresh and fruity aroma, rustic and funky to the right amount (but there are many funkier Fantomes around), very light alcohol feel. It drinks like a session beer. Great

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2012 bottle conditioned 750ml, 2011 (gold foil). billowy tall white head with lasting retention. heavy minerallic and phenolic nose of banana match sticks / sulfur and gravel / dry concrete; strongly peppery and musty with a touch of what seems to be smoked malt. the boldness and surprise is what captivates me so much. medium-full body with rich and chewy banana and candy sugar with a touch of muddled tropical fruits, and it’s surprisingly dry - not at all what I would expect from 10%. highly bitter, highly dry, medium-high acid, intensely musty. honestly quite hard to wrap my head around.

75 cl. bottle @ RBBWG 2013. Bottled in the same kind of Champagne bottles as 3F in their wake. When some brewers got the peculiar idea that it was the bottles and not the beer that were selling the 3F Armand 4 Series… maybe for a small part but they would have sold anyway. 2011 Version – so first batch? Hazy golden with a serious, firm white head. Smells of sweet peaches, floral, herbs, sharp spices, bit saez touch. Taste is bitter, floral, herbal with a lot of esters, clear fruit, peaches, very fizzy, Champagne-like carbonation, tad saez, makes me think of Duvel a bit, spicy yeast, very light funk, carbonation masks a bbit. Nice but was expeting a bit more – maybe it’s the bottle that threw me off?

I Really enjoyed this beer. A lot of lemon, citrus and tart in the flavor. It’s got a little bit of that Fantome house flavor that I expect will continue to develop and push this beer even higher. This is easily in my top 5 favorite Fantomes.

2/25/12. Bottle shared by bu11zeye during RBWG 2012. Cloudy orange/yellow, almost flourescent, under a small off-white head. Funky, wild aroma with aspects of mint and fresh herbs along with yeast, light malts, and a citrus aspect. Nice tart flavor that also shows more almost herbal funkiness, more tartness, lemon peel, and more. Good stuff!

(750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye at RBWG) cloudy gold-orange pour with soapy offwhite bubbles. Nose of wet wood, tart cranberry and honey. Taste of cranberry, tart orange, very drinkable and well carbonated. Awesome saison.

750 ml bottle bought @ Etre Gourmet. Shared at epic tasting on February 11. Pours hazy pale golden with a huge frothy white head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass while slowly dissipating. Smell is sweet with farmyard notes, orange peal, caramel, apricots, peaches, lemon juice, cloves, coriander and allspice. Taste is sweet, slightly sour, fruity and spicy with orange juice, ripe peaches, apricots, lemon balm, white pepper, ginger, cilantro, farmyard, alcohol and hints of gummi candy. Mouthfeel is full bodied, creamy and intense. Finish is tart and funky with lemon juice and orange peal.
