3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
December 25, 2012 bottle from cyclone liquors. Muddy brown pour with large head that lasted. Aroma of chocolate, spice and bit sour. Taste was consistent with aroma but also had some pepper in there. Medium body and relatively smooth.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours Orange Tan and Hazy. The nose has some acidic funkyness with wood. Flavors are dry tart with barnyard like notes. Earthy but some medicinal like tastes. Not much sweetness, along with some sourness. Dry finish. Interesting, but not a whole lot to my liking.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Hazy light brown body with an average sized beige head. Aroma taste of herbs and spices, with a bread like maltiness. The body is on the sweeter side of balanced, but it finishes with a dull bitterness and a dry, minerally finish. Medium bodied.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
From the 12/2012 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml green bottle this beer poured a medium brown color with a large foamy light brown head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tart and vaguely fruity with touches of Pez candies and chalk. The flavor was tart, and sour Pez candies and chalk with undertones of lemon, orange, pepper, must and a bit of funk. Long dryish sour and tart chalky finish. Medium body. Nothing special.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle from Etre Gourmet. Pours clear dark brown with a huge frothy off-white head. Aroma is funky & fruity with some spices. Taste is light spicy and bitter, fresh and light crisp mouthfeel, very well hidden alcohols, I like this one, something special, undefined moreishness, not easy drinkable, just another take on the christmas beer tradition.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Aroma has a nice acidic note to it - I think a touch of acetic acid. The acid gives a bit of a tart cherry character and a touch of red apple cider. The phenolic character is almost woodsy with an indescribable herbal spice note as well.
The color is a burnt red to brown an is fairly cloudy with a tan head that lingers on the edges.
Flavor is sweet but with a slight acidic note as well. A bit too cidery but there is also a touch of cherries. The phenolics are not as strong in the flavor, but there is an almost wood-like note. The finish has a mineral and bitter note to it which helps wash away the sweetness and acidity leaving just the deeper woodsy, earthy note.
The mouthfeel is pretty viscous for a saison, but this is also 10%. I guess I would prefer this a bit drier as it does have a bit of a sticky finish. The beer is definitely warming, but the alcohol isn't very apparent in aroma or flavor.
Overall this is a nice beer and I like the level of acidity, but it's a bit too big and sweet. The phenolic note is also a bit muddled. I guess it's just another Christmas beer that I'm not a huge fan of; maybe one day I will find one I really enjoy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Fugly brew with a significant amount of yeast/sediment...snot-like in appearance and consistency. Dark chestnut/honey pour, spicy aroma with bread, biscuit, and dough qualities. Black pepper, toffee, and coriander throughout. Muddled and unpolished. Expected more.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a dark murky brown with no head. Aroma of funk, lacto, spices and sweet malt. Taste follows, overly sweet, pretty hard to drink. I really don't like this one
