COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A very dark and entirely unique holiday seasonal beer, at a whopping 10% alc. by volume. Reportedly spiced with honey, caramel, coriander, black pepper, and other secret ingredients. The alcohol content probably goes a long way toward explaining that very warm and satisfied feeling one finds on the very first sip. A rich, dark-flavored beer with lots of deep-roasted chocolate malt, but still fairly dry, with a hint of sourness at the core. It is very spicy, with some winter spruce flavor in the bargain. The wild yeast sourness also adds to its welcoming character.

75cl bottle. Hazy dark brown/red with small and slightly tanned head. Nose : white cheese, caramel, spices of clove, cinnamon. Leather. Some honey. Sip : Medium body with creamy texture. Good carbonation. Sweet and sour with strong spices like clove and cinnamon. Sweet honey and caramel. Strong cooked cherry flavor. Aftertaste is dry and spicy. Overall this beer is one of it kind. Not that easy to drink but still original and tasty.

bottle at home. Pours dark ruby red, flat like a pancake. Intensely sweet malt orange zest, mellow peach, and some peppery notes. Full sweet body, increasingly bitter towards the end, but all blending nicely to a typical winter warmer. Nice.

Shared 750 ml. bottle poured to my snifter showing a cloudy, deep orangey gold color, with a modest layer of soft white head foam, and web-like lacing. The nose was light fruit & citrus, circus peanuts, light peppery yeast, and spices. Light to medium bodied, fairly effervescent, with some welcome alcohol presence, the flavor was sweet, with a citrus & rind bitterness, finishing lightly acidic, and somewhat dry. A decent, well after the holidays treat that held up nicely in Tim’s cellar locker.

Very murky golden, nice off white ringed head that faded softly. Nose is big spicy, earthy and posh tea with a faint spicy warmth. Carbonation is firm although for a Fantôme... Finishes quite greasy spice, saw of bready warmth on the linger.
