Commercial Description:
A very dark and entirely unique holiday seasonal beer, at a whopping 10% alc. by volume. Reportedly spiced with honey, caramel, coriander, black pepper, and other secret ingredients. The alcohol content probably goes a long way toward explaining that very warm and satisfied feeling one finds on the very first sip. A rich, dark-flavored beer with lots of deep-roasted chocolate malt, but still fairly dry, with a hint of sourness at the core. It is very spicy, with some winter spruce flavor in the bargain. The wild yeast sourness also adds to its welcoming character.

A hazy amber beer with a lazing orange head. The aroma is sweet and quite fruity. The flavor is sweet fruity with a strong note of dust.

(Bottle 75 cl) Deep, dark brown with a warm, red Christmas glow. Gigantic, rocky head. For a 10% beer this is surprisingly dry with a pronounced bitterness. But once again it’s the unique spicyness that stands out. I sense pepper and...and...? Gets unclear, almost muddy if you pour the huge sediment. 210901

Bottled. Cloudy copper colour. Interesting and complex aroma including cellary cherries. Sweet with light sparkling mouthfeel. Warming and spicy with notes of grapes and a grassy finish. A very interesting beer.

Draught @ Kerstbierfestival 2006 in Essen, BE. Hazy dark yellow brown color with a litle white head. Aroma off yeast, banana, medicine and pepper. Flavor is sweet and spicy (peppery) with some notes of the medicine aroma, witch i did not like.

Bottle. Sour cardboard aroma. Dark chestnut colour. Nice and stable, creamy light brown head. Flavour has a little cardboard too. Nicely peppery, but also somehow dry.

Bottled. Dark brown/black colour with brown huge head. Aroma of cherry, fruits, barnyard and some raosted malt. Flavour is sweet raisins, plum, toffeee, fruit, spices, roast and some smooth "leathery" notes. Very complex, but pleasant. Alcohol gives a small kick in finish. Long aftertaste of malt, caramel, raisins and sourness. Totally lovely!
