4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle split with pat at belgian cafe. Pours a dark Burgundy reddish body with nice off white lacing. Aroma is nut, caramel, and tart. Taste is pure nut in the forefront, in the background notes of caramel, tart, black pepper, spice.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Unknown lot (no notches)
pours a good looking dark garnet with brown hues. A fine light latte foam sits atop. Fleeting sheets of lace fall. I’m smelling apple skins, nutty yeast, some nougat and a little metal.
The flavor follows with a bit more of the yeasty character and a hint of a raisin layer. A relatively doughy character, the beer is really yeasty. Even the mouthfeel is heavy, but with excessive carbonation and a dry finish.
This beer is interesting, but I’m likely not to purchase a second bottle. I’ve only had one other Fantome, and that was fantastic, but this one is not impressing me.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear, light brown. Dry woody aroma. Also with some spice too. Although warming from the alcohol it has a light tartness that makes it fresh and easy to drink.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Wytrawne bez grama cukru. Finisz takze wytrawny i octowy. Bardzo polecam jesli ktos lubi kwaskowate piwa np typu gueuze lub rodenbach nie bedzie tym piwem rozczarowany.

A: Murky Orangish/Brown Hue, Passes Little Light, Off White Head, Minimal Lacing
S: Bitter Cherry, Plum, Lemons, Grassy

Overall, a decent saison but seemed very light compared to their other beers, a drinkable saison that doesnt fill you up.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle: ruby & brown colored body with very mild translucency. Volatile, bubbly, gray-tinted head that takes its time settling down. Aroma is heavy, heavy yeast. Bubblegum, dry bread, very tame banana sweetness, tons of spicy coriander, clove, & pepper, even with a little mint. Taste includes mild grape & pear skins, followed by the huge yeast blanket. Funk clouds everything. Bubblegum, clove, cheesecloth, moldy cork, wet dog, and a back-end chalkiness that I’m not fond of. Very spiced, finish booms with clove, pepper, and even more funk. A little too out of kilter to be completely enjoyable. Decent at best.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
My first Fantome. I am not certain of the vintage of this bottle, but I know where to find a stash of these for cheap. Think I will pick up the rest soon. Pours a clearish brown with minimal head. Scent is all Xmas spice. Flavor is sweet, spicy, and earthy. I was very concerned that this brew might end up a drain pour, but, whatever its age, it has held up well. Bottle - GA
