Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Pours cloudy yellow-gold with a filmy head. Crisp, slightly grassy aroma. Nice sweetness, light bread in the flavor. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Very faint warmth to finish, bit more grass, yeast and light sugars. Nice beer.

Bottle at chriso’s Pre-GBBF Shindig ’11. It pours orange-amber, with a thin foamy white head and moderate carbonation. The nose is strawberry, orange, pineapple and spice. The taste is hay, straw, lime, lemon, orange, spice, pepper and grass. A pleasant saison.

75 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Pikkulintu. Rated on 17.10.2008
Aroma has lots of forest-like hops and fruits, especially lemon. Flavour is foresty too and it has some brown sugar with some lemon. Good and refreshing saison.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2013 Updated review (04.06.2013): Amazing notes of lemon with a bit of pine tree. Backing light acidity and a bit of pineapple. Tropical fruits. Very dry and light. Awesome. Original review (04.22.2011): Bottle shared by drabmuh. Thanks. Served in a tulip. Pour yields a slightly-murky golden-ish beer with a good white head and some slight lacing. The nose brings forward a good mild funk along with some hay and earth. Some peaches and other stone fruits lingering in the background. Some floral notes as well. The taste lays it all out--funk, earth, hay, fruits, and some dry floral notes. Really nicely balanced with a crisp, dry finish. Drinks pretty well. A very nice beer. Bottle shared by plovmand. Pours hazy dark amber with a tan head. The aroma is very special - peppery, berries, spices and acidic. Flavour is very special as well, peppery, vinegar, spices, berries and leather. Over the edge brew, funny to taste.

Bottle. Golden, cloudy, small and fully diminishing head. Moderate, malty and dryish – lots of citrus aroma, spices – pepper. Body is medium, malty and dryish flavor, berry-like acidity, pepper and dry spices, citrus. Finish is average, malty and dry, citrus and pepper. Strange beer, also unfortunately bit flat – pepper and citrus together just do not work for me.

This one I have had in my cellar several years, thanks Fonefan. The color is mahogany-red and the head is creamy. The aroma has notes of caramel and berries. The flavour is moderately sweet and has berry-acidity and notes of rowanberries, light raisin, caramel and the finish is sourish and dry. It’s actually quite nice.

75 cl bottle. Pours dark orange, amber with a medium brown head. Aroma is earthy, caramel and hints of spices. Taste is similar, with malt, roasted notes and a finish very spicy. Medium body with medium/high carbonation. It’s a quite strange and different beer, I don’t like too much this beer even if it is quite interesting in the different parts.
