Bottle: Poured a bright orangey color ale with a very light foamy head with no retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of a strange spice mix with some distinctive floral notes. Taste is one incredible mix between some floral notes with some barnyard notes as well as light sourness with a strange mix of spices. Full body with low carbonation and no alcohol is perceptible. I must admit I had lost faith recently in some Fantome beers but this just confirmed that they can still create some totally unique experience while retaining some drinkability. I can’t say that I tasted the oregano thought.

Hazy light amber body, big bubbled white head; Apricot fruit aromas mixed with very apparent oregano, in the beginning this mix is very strange but with time in the glass it evolves very nicely; Very fruity orangy fresh body with a very little sharpness from spices behind; Long fruity fresh and full finish, lots of aroma with the oregano showing clearly again. Another very, very good beer from Fantome.

Case (100) - GERMANY - JUL 25, 2008
750ml bottle with crown cap and cork, bought at Beer Mania in Brussels. Opens with a tiny pop.
Pours a relatively clear golden orange color with only minimal head that directly disapears. Aroma is spicy, fruity, some orange and lemon zest. Taste is very lemony with a bit of lemon acidity, yeasty, very spicy, peppery, quite salty and clearly recognizable as a Fantôme brew. There’s some hops in the background. The alcohol is very well hidden, the body is fairly light. Unfortunately the carbonation is almost non-existent but the spiciness sort of makes up for it.

Overall an easily drinkable saison, very thirst-quenching but lacks carbonation. The complex spiciness kept me intrigued throughout the whole bottle. Anorther very good effort from Fantôme, not as amazing as their regular saison but worth trying.
