750 ml bottle. Pours a dark orange colour with a small head. A unique aroma of grains, coriander, some fern, ginger and grass. Flavour of white grapes, floral bitterness, wheat, grains, some alcohol, mild sweetness, dry grassy and herbal notes and some wood. Medium bodied and a dry, smooth, herbal and with a real nice lemon zing. Just great.

Truly a winter saison. Not very carbonated, and not sprightly on the tongue. Base flavor is quite good, albeit a surprisingly bit sweet. Overall, a nice one -- quite a wallop in ABV for this style, too.

Bottle from brewdog online
essentially opaque ear wax amber with pillowy white head collapsing to a lacing.. bog myrtle, thyme and stem ginger on the nose. Gentle carbonation, full bodied wheatiness with a vegetal herbal note then some peppery twangs in a fairly brief finish. Flavours open up on warming with weissbeer like banana and clove esters and rising warmth. Complex, yes but not quite my cup of tea.

Bottle split at JF’s, big thanks to he, 04/05/14. Murky orange amber with a big old light beige head that retains well. Nose is dark fruit rinds, pepper, toffee, spices, bitter orange, straw. Taste comprises tangy orange, apricot, toffee, spice, clove, vanilla, farmyard. Medium + body, fine carbonation, tangy fruit and light booze tempered with sweet licks in the close. Solid saison, well balanced and very drinkable for the ABV.

Pours a cloudy orange with a bubbly head that reduces over time. Lots of floral, smokey notes with some fruit. The smoke really comes through in the taste (I suppose that’s the lavender), coriander, spice and more floral, peaty notes. Medium mouth with a fairly long aftertaste. Quite unlike any farmhouse ale I’ve ever had. Very complex and well-made. Probably not something I’d grab often, except to show the variety of saisons.

Bottle. Copper with small off white head. Aroma of spice and floral (rose) notes. Medium body with hop bitterness upfront, herbal and yeast notes, and a dry bitter finish.

Bottle. Orange-brown, cloudy, with a fine head. Herbal, flowery nose, stewed fruit, some caramel. Spicy and sweet flavor, tangy too, though. Very interesting and complex. Full and smooth body. Excellent. The elderflowers work well, and are not overdone.
