3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A very nice offering from Fantome, though it doesn’t quite match their exceptional Fantome Saison. Hiver is a drier offering and less fruity. Strong yeast and alcohol notes throughout. The fruit is there, but as a background to the dryness, whereas in their regular Saison the fruit is very much up front and a dominant feature. This is a nice beer if you’re seeking something dry and strong for the style.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Brewdog, Sheffield. Cloudy, orangey, amber colour. Film of white head. Sourdough bread. Clove. Light ginger. Hint of anise. Taste is spicy dry. Plenty of creamy, buttery sweetness provides balance. Palate sees it through. A tad over sweet on the finish, for me, but very drinkable regardless.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Big bottle from Brewdog online shop, shared with jeevan and the Mrs. Aromas are spicy and yeasty, not as sour as I’d have expected from my last Fantome encounter. Dry finish, saison yeast character. Good, but not WOW.
