750ml bottle. thanks to Kan for sharing at P4. pours hazy orange-amber with off white head. nose of apple, pear, and white grape. flavors of green apple, white grape, mild citrus, toffee, and toasted biscuit. rather fruity and lacks a lot of the Fantome house flavor/yeast quality to it.

Been a minute. Hints of brown sugar and funked cheese on the nose. Little spice and fruit notes on the palate, mixed with grass and hay, little barnyard. Per usual, no idea what it is, but it’s tasty!

Pours a cloudy golden orange color with yellowish hues and a very thin fizzy white head that immediately fades into a thin ring.  No lacing.   Earthy aroma with funky saison yeast, light fruit, zesty spice and a prominent citrus character.  Lots of lemon peel and grapefruit along with a subtle vegetal/earthy presence. Medium bodied and surprisingly tart with a dry, sour funk that lingers throughout into a slightly puckering, dry finish.  There’s also a sweet fruit presence with lots of citrusy lemon as well as some apple and pear.  Hints of grass, hay, yeast and a vegetal earthiness.  There’s also some faint spice that’s nowhere near as strong as in the nose.  Just really weird, kind of like a saison berlinerweisse hybrid. Kind of one dimensional though with an odd sour and sweet fruit flavor.  Not too sour though, more puckering and dry.

Hazy red-brown with soft, creamy, beige head / Delicate, mildly tart, nose of orchard fruit and caramel / Medium body, lightly tart, with beautiful balance of fruity acidity and creamy malts, and fine finish / Earthy flavors of apples, cherries, strawberries, caramel, hay, cinnamon, coriander, and oak / Great stuff.

750ml bottle from 2010. Hazy dark amber / brown with a tan head that settles quickly. Overall it was a middling bottle of Fantome, although still tasty - decent amount of barnyard, some grass, candied sugar, some citrus, pepper, bit of alcohol, and yeast although not sure how everything fit together. Moderate to high carbonation, mild but flavourful body, becomes somewhat dry, is sweet with more grass and barnyard coming through on the finish along with a bit of alcohol. Decent.

Bottle, rated 04/17/2012. Pours deep brown/maroon, rocky two-finger beige head, sudsy lacing left behind. Aroma very fruity: raspberries, strawberries, rasisins, with unmistakable Fantome yeast, turbinado sugar and faint earthiness. Taste carries raspberry notes, nutty malts, brown sugar mixed with hop bitterness, some chocolate in the aftertaste. More distinct than most Fantomes, I dig the dark malt/ fruit combo going on here.

750 ml bottle @ RBNAG-11. Murky orange body with a nice tan head. A bit unusually aroma, cheesy, spicy, malt, ripe fruit and hint of brown sugar. Flavor has some malt, acidic fruit, hint of caramel and spices. Medium body. Interesting and nice flavor.

750mL. Pours deep amber to black cherry with nice clarity and a large, powerful beige head with nice retention. Impressive, sheety lace. Nose is sweet black cherry, quite fruit juicy, almost exactly like Dr. Browns black cherry soda. Taste is a bit slick, mild cocoa, quite bitter with berry skins. Mildly tart with heavier cafloutis dessert. Weird stuff. Certainly not saison but more in the Belgian Strong Ale category. Very unique- like cherry Liqour on an Abbey Dubbel base. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours rather dark for a saison with a more heavy body. Taste of brett, hay and strawberries.
