Light, fruity and champagne-like. Fantôme brews special seasonal beers, never repeating a recipe from year to year. This one is for spring . . .

From bottle, no 2 at Papsoes blindtasting. Pours hazy yellow and with a diminished white head. Citrus and orange fruity aroma, brett-ish. Flavour is citric towards brett-ish. There too much lemon here. Ends with a mild citric lingering finish and with dry almost woody tone.

An opaque dark amber beer with a fine off-white dense head. The aroma is sweet with notes of yeast and fruit. The flavor is sweet and sour with notes of grapefruit, citrus, roasted bread, malt, and hints of coffee. A nice beer from a good brewery.

(Bottle 75 cl) Slightly cloudy, pale golden with a small, off-white head. Lightly tart aroma with a whiff of cork. Medium-bodied with lightly tart, Brettish accents and a touch of citrus. Somewhat fusty with notes of cork. Subdued bitterness. 301107

Bottled. Hazy nutbrown colour, small white head. Aroma is earthy, yeasty and hoppy. Flavour is caramel malts, earth and grassy hops. Wellbalanced, but at the same time very acidic and sour.

Bottle at ZBF 2006. Amber colour with no head. Yeasty malty aroma. Malty flavor with some spicy hints. Refreshing with a bitter aftertaste.

Corked bottle

Cloudy blond color. Very interesting aroma, sour, with cellar smell, cork, light grapefruit, very light vanilla. The flavor is much less interesting, built on a weak body, with more astringency than acidity. Weird.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2014 Bottle, 75cl, kindly shared by Beer2000. It pours an unclear, yellowish golden body topped by a finger-thick white head. Slightly flowery on thee nose, fruity-sweetish and grapefruity, with some pineapple caramel. Honey, pale malts, herbs and lots of fruityness in the flavor. Medium to full body, nice level of carbonation. Pale malts, fruityness and herbs in the finish. An unusual beer, maybe a bit low on bitterness, but I certainly wouldn’t mind drinking more of it. Rating: 6-3-7-4-14-3.4. 110501

Bottle, 75cl. It pours a hazy, light amber colored body under a dense, two-finger, white head leaving lacings. The aroma has a distinct dandelion milk scent, with pine cones, lots of orange zest, some pale malts, a generic spiced and herbal touch and some sweet gale. Complex, with promises of refreshment. And those promises are kept, it’s well carbonated without being fizzy, it’s more or less full-bodied, and quite dry on the palate. Citruspeel, herbal bitterness in the flavor, especially in the lasting swallow. Pale malts, a faint hint of caramel, some herbs and a touch of pine cones and sweet gale too. Peppery, yeasty hints in the far back. A tasteful and refreshing beer that should be in everyone’s fridge. At least mine, which it is. 141007

Cloudy yellow with a nice lasting white head & tremendous lacings. Fresh aroma - very fantome like - spicy & fruity with the classic herbal/earthy touch. Slightly sour. Medium bodied. Some hops & yeast were spotted in the end. This was my last Fantome while I was in Belgium. Got pretty drunk drinking all these large bottles by myself:-)

Bottle (Sune) at ØLklubben. Unclear dark brown - white head. Dusty, spiderweb, candy (vingummi), high sweetness, caramel, fruity, light sourness / citrussy !!
