Pours hazy orange with a medium head on it that quicly dissapears. Aroma has huge notes of lemon/orange zest reminiscent of chammomile tea. A little barnyard funk is present as well. Body is thin-medium. Flavor is Bready with orange juice-like notes as well. Seems overly spiced with coriander, or chammomile that lingers in the finish.

clear jellow with a nice fluffy head... aroma is fruity (citrus), hoppy and has some fesh malts, nice but not to intens.... taste is bitter sweet, fruity and a more tough than the aroma is hintin at, nice bitter finish... the beer is very lively and fills the mouth wih foam after the first few tastes... very nice, much more complex than you’d expect after looking at the abv....

Fruity and somewhat sour aroma. Some hops in the aroma. Mildly cloudy orange color. Fruity flavor with some hay-like character. Fresh and refreshing. Some grapefruit flavors in aftertaste. Nice medium body with a silky texture. This beer has a great refreshing flavor. This beer makes me happy!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 GoldenSpunky (120) - Rochester, New York, USA - FEB 14, 2005
Pretty inspried by Bucknaked’s rating of this saison. The aroma is a of a floral English garden with hints of tulip, rose, and orchid. The flavor is definitely alot like green garden hose and rusty shovel. But seriously this beer is definitely a spring saison with undertones of grapes, herbs, spices, and champagne. Finished alittle chalky but i think it might be the glass or on my tongue. Sour overtones of tart apples, peaches, and more green garden hose. Decent beer overall.

A Fantome that I haven’t had? Sweet. You truly never know what you are going to get.
Cloudy darker golden color with a minimal head.
Huge earthy spiciness in the nose. This immediately reminds me of the nose of Pissenlit (the dandelion beer), despite it being years since I’ve had that beer. Grassy, earthy, flowery, wow. I swear, this smells exactly like dandelions. Loving it. Touches of sweetness in the nose as well.
The taste itself is a very mellow, balanced, smooth beer. Low carbonation - tastes like a fair bit of wheat was used to soften the body. Slightly watery mid-palate. Could probably use a touch more carbonation. Still, nice.
This beer is great, if only for the nose. The taste and body are good, but it is the nose that keeps drawing me back.
Recommended. Oh, Fantome, how unique you are.

Hazy gold with a hint of brown. Clean white head that stays for a consideral amount of time. Yeasty, spicy, and slightly citrus aromas. Flavors are more spicy than other fantomes. The finish is dry with notes of citrus and a touch of menthol, alchohol or mint. Love that Fantome, but not their best.

I am really enjoying this brew. Aroma is dominated lemon and grass with a hint of alcohol. Appearance is a pale yellow like lemon juice and minimal head. Taste is lemon and vanilla. Palate is a bit thin and refreshing. Really nice beer.

UPDATED: SEP 1, 2007 I love this beer! Beautiful, dense head appears orange-creme. Kind of subtle compared to most Saisons I’ve had (especially other Fantomes) but very quaffable and tasty. I tasted hints of beeswax and clove. Really! Definitely got the citrus peel thing at the end, but also malty and sour tang. Great mouthfeel.

My favorite Fantome thus far with the possible exception of the regular saison. These notes are from August 2009, 2009 vintage. Pours yellow, hazy, good sized white head, some lacing, not much retention. Aroma is lemon, grass, mint, maybe basil. Flavor is pretty much like the nose, all over the place but quite nice.
