750 ml bottle. A hazy deep red beer with alarge, creamy, lacing and mostly lasting beige head. Peculiar, funky and yeasty aroma. Also very spicy nose. There are notes of citric fruits, dark fruits, maybe mint and a hint of toasted grains. The flavour is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Quite complex. Medium body, lively carbonation, dry long finish with medium bitterness. As usual the alcohol is well hidden. Not the best Fantome and that is saying something, however a more than average stuff.

Not reall used to saisons, this was a pleasantly surprising brew: yeasty moderate gueuze with more finesse and complexity than Mort Subite! Didnd’t expect the tartness of this one until I saw the foam disappearing within 1sec after pouring. Nice high range carbonation. Cloudy/unpasteurised look, fee-floating sediment. Heard that Fantome’s production and individual brews and bottles are hit-and-miss, this one makes me curious for more of them.

Countbeer (1943) - Best of Eindhoven ohne Brauhaus, NETHERLANDS - MAY 21, 2012
Bottle: Small white head, disappears quick and leaves some islands on top of a hazy orange colored beer. Smell is a crispy mix of yeasty fruit tones, funk, herbs, light sour, a great promissing mix. Taste is funky bit like a geuze/lambic, herbs, wheat, lemon, citrus, crisp, light hoppy, spices, wheat, some light malts and again funky. Hop funk: delicious Funky herby spicy wheat crispy aftertaste. Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, medium to more fuller body and a light creamy texture. Deliciouse funky beer!

750 ml bottle bought @ Être Gourmet. Pours hazy golden with a rather small bubbly white head that quickly dissipates without leaving much trace. Smell is slightly sweet, floral and dusty with white bread, lemon juice, hay, cloves, white pepper, barnyard, basil and lemon balm. Taste is tiny sweet and sour with lemon juice, grapefruit juice, lemon zest, lemon grass, wheat crackers and grapes. Mouthfeel is dry, tart and medium bodied. Finish is dry, sour and tart with lemon juice, hay, lemon zest and spices. Surprisingly sour and refreshing.

75 cl. bottle @ home / purchased @ Alvinne: A: amber fox orange with a white head / S: lacto, hay, barnyard funk, peach, yoghurt / T: bitter, slight, lemon zest, marmalade, orange yeast, hay, barnyard funk, bitter, lacto, funk, barnyard, yoghurt aftertaste / B: slight below medium cab / does taste infected in good old Fantôme fashion, after a while you sort of get into it, only Fantôme can actually release something like this

murky amber-gold, wispy white head with small bubbled puffy ring. Nose is unfermented sugar, tea, mango, bit dead, spicy dough giving life with warmth. Flavor similar, tea and leaves with off sugars, some grassy hops emerging with warmth, nice balance.

A really dirty and dusty yeast saison, lots if sweet pale cotton candy and honey malts. Like cookie dough.
