COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a tremendously delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own.
Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

Bottle at home. Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks! Pours bright orange and glowing with a thin head. Smell is fruity, strawberries and yeast with funkiness. Taste is spiced, coriander, faint strawberry fruitiness, and some cherry perhaps too. Medium body and soft carbonation.

Hazy light golden pour with a small fizzy white head. Aroma was slightly fruity, nice Saison esque yeast character, earthy and a bit of bready malt. Flavors were overly unique. Like no other saison I have come across. Started off dry and yeasty, then a big fruity, almost sweet tart like fruitiness came through. Such a pleasant surprise. Finished dry, with just a hint of tartness. Mouthfeel was lightly fizzy. No booze to be found. Nicely done.

Bottle, 75 cl. Label says: Biere artisanale sur lie (iso saison). Bought in Erezee, ardennes. Blond, hazy, lots of carbonization, small white head. Aroma has barley, peach, honey, apples. taste is reasonable bitter, like a tripel, somewhat dry, with peach, rose hips, not sweet at all, fizzling, with a long finish.

Bottle at Dark Lord Day. Thanks for the share. This was amazing. I’m not sure how fresh it was because I could taste a bit of age but it was still amazing. Light floral notes with some herbal and spice notes. A tiny bit of fruit comes through. Very solid saison.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2011 Cervesa ideal per a l’estiu. Molt afruitada i extremadament refrescant tot i tenir 8 graus, que per cert, no es noten. En nas gerds, maduixetes... Increïble. De gran qualitat.

Bottiglia da 75 comprata da ilbeershop.it. Fantastica. Naso acido, quasi lambiccoso. In bocca un bouquet di aromi e sapori che spazia tra diversi tipi di frutta. 8% e non sentirli. Pare sia una roulette russa comprare questa birra... ho avuto fortuna, era in formissima. Mamma mia che goduria.
