mjs (1445), Helsinki, Finland Jun 19, 2008 (Bottle from Bier Tempel, Brugge) Orange colour. Hazy. Small white slightly bubbly head which went away quickly. Sour, fruity and yesty nose. Fizzy palate, light to medium bodied. Very fruity taste. Citrus. Yeast. Attic. Sourness. An excellent saison. cmillward (418), Orlando, Florida, USA Jun 18, 2008 Bottle @ ORL throwdown. Light yellow with a decent bubbly white head. On the nose mint, citrus, lemon, tart, spicy brett, orange, some funk, hay. Flavor is tart, pineapple, some hay, a little bitterness towards the end. Amazingly refreshing finish. Very drying and tart. From a night full of Fantomes, this was one of my favorites. The intriguing tropical fruit hints set this apart. Unclear and yellow with a white head. Aroma of fruity yeast notes - especially strawberry. Some hops. Flavor of strawberries and citrus. High carbination and nice palate. dkachur (2313), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jun 15, 2008 Updated: Jun 21, 2008Bottle from Wine Works & Tobacco in Short Pump, VA. Yes, there is really a town called Short Pump. Hazy orange pour with a medium head. Aroma has some funk, and is very fruity... reminding me of SweeTTarts. Citrus and tropical notes abound in the taste along with a light bitterness. Scary smooth, this one. jcr (1134), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jun 12, 2008 750 ml bottle. Musty and tart, this was a comfortable and easy drinking saison. Hazy and dark yellow body below a frothy white head that disappears quickly. The aroma is yeasty with mustiness and cobwebs with notes of grass, lemon, honey and toasted grain. the flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter and moderately acidic. Nice tart /sour finish. Medium body, lively carbonation and a smooth, velvety texture. Very enjoyable.
SpudClampDawg (1027), Jasper, Indiana, USA Jun 12, 2008 750ml capped and corked bottle: The our looks like apple cider with a smallish head that quickly leaves. Soft notes of honey lie beneath the slight funky yeast notes. Not quite barnyard in intensity, a wild yeast is definitely at work in this beer. The body shows some sourness with a nice layer of brett playing off the delicate maltiness. Peach and pear esthers linger in the finish. I would say this beer is tart, on the way to becoming sour. Easy to drink with a nice level of complexity. AmEricanbrew (1747), Louisiana, USA Jun 11, 2008 Hazy gold with a fleeting white head. Nice lemon, black pepper aroma with a hint of cloves and other herbs. Light medium body and smooth. Nice taste is apricots, peach, apple skins with some mild fruity spices. Not too bad. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 10, 2008 Bottle. Low off-white non impressive head. Hazy yellow body. Promissing acidic lemon grapefruit dry aroma. Horseblanket hay grapefruit aroma. Pretty good. Powerful acidic grapefruit vinegar carbonated fruity, in other words quite comples flavor, too bad though a bit too sweet. Quickly dying aftertaste.
