4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 oteyj (1753) - Washington DC, USA - JUN 9, 2010
UPDATED: JUN 30, 2010 Cloudy yellow straw pour with a lively white frothy head. The aroma is very fruity- nectar and spicy pound cake abound. A nice crisp lemon acidity comes through as well. The flavor is of bread, dough, and lemon with backnotes of herb and nectar fruit. The palate is light, creamy, effervescent, and very crisp. The perfect beer for the occasion- chillin on newly cit grass in the summertime.

Hazy dark gold pour with a nice white frothy head. Aroma holds lots of fruity esters, nectarine, doughy yeast, spice, and some tart fruit as well. Flavor is similar with increased yeast characteristics and more delightful notes of champagne, nectar fruit, and clove. Palate is medium bodied, with a nice tartness that yields to a semi-dry finish. Really tasty saison, and a perfect lighter beer to start the day after a night of heaving drinking.

Wow. Thought provoking if nothing else. I wonder what makes us gravitate toward this style with its funk and dry nature. This is more of a wine experience not from a sensory perception angle but from the overall experience of trying to get to know this sucker. I liked it then I didn’t, it was refreshing but then evoked thirst and so on. An absolute paradox that I need to look into further. Smells of uric acid, wet barnyard hay and sourdough bread with a sharp raspberry twinge also. I taste big sour apple notes here and an approachable acidity that begs for a food pairing of something organically sweet like red grapes or sugary strawberries. The finish is dry but not overly so. Interesting, like a dirty dirty tripel. Thank You Fantome. 2010 25oz.

Pours a very hazy light amber, with plenty of suspended sediment. Apple is there in the aroma right from the start & follows through in the palate much more than I initially remember. Citrus, grassy, & mild, but very consistent through the experience. Leaves a pleasant, light aftertaste. One of the best saisons on the planet, imo.

Sour citrus nose. Flavor starts like the nose. More citrus than sour. Light and fruity and well carbonated. Some apple and grape notes A bit sour. Very refreshing and delcious. We had this outside in the shade on a nice hot day and it was really nice.

Taste of orange, citrus, spicy Belgian yeast, candied pears, fresh bread. Dry but creamy well carbonated finish with yeast and oranges lingering. A great saison!
