Commercial Description:
This is a delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own.
Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

Bottle. Cloudy golden beer with white head. Aroma is fruity. Flavour is apple, pineapple and a bit spicy. Very refreshing (tasted after a porter/stout tasting).

My third 3.9 in a row!!!!!!!! haha Anyway, I liked this beer very much. A nice looking beer with a great big head. Smell is lightly funky, and a little unforgivably skunky. The flavor is spicy, and sharply bitter, with just a little funk. The beer has a mouth feel very similar to champagne.

Aroma is tart, lightly fruit.. pear? Slightly acidic. Cloudy golden color, thin light head, Serious dark sediment in the last pour. Decent lacing. Great carbonation. Flavor has light fruits in it, grape or pear? Lightly spiced. Another great saison from Fantome.

Palest of orange color, cloudy with bubbly white head. Intoxicating fruity perfumes began to fill the air immediately as I popped the cork on this one. Smells of strawberry, raspberry, tart cherry, tangerine, sweet tarts, juicy fruity deliciousness. Taste is like a milder version of the nose. It is hard to believe that theres not fruit added to this beer, the fruit impression is so strong. Smell is strongly strawberry or cherry but the flavors I get are more orange or lemony sweet tarts. Almost sour! Gooood. Mildly acidic, light-moderate feel with low carbonation. This beer is immensely drinkable and thoroughly enjoyable.

Bottle: Poured a clear to orange depending on the sediment, has a thin head. Aroma is musty barn yard like with some fruit berry. The taste continues with the fruit, but also has that refreshing yeast and spice.

Clear golden color with a soft white head, good retention and lacing. Aromas of hay, lemon, must, cantelope, honeydew, and some pears. Grassy and musty at the beginning but some of the fruits mentioned in the aroma join in shortly thereafter. Earthy and fruity in the finish. Medium carbonation and body. Another great Saison from Fantome.

From a 750-ml bottle--Poured a bright golden-amber body with a big, bouncy white head. Yeasty, hoppy, earthy nose. Lost of natural spiciness. No way is this 8% ABV. Smooth, crisp and well balanced.

750 bottle capped and corked shows little carbonation and virtually no head at all. color is a lightly hazed caramel amber. aroma has sweet tartness, yeast spice, light hay, and must. nose is nice to take in developing more fruit. taste is initially on the tart and acidic side but after a few sips sets in. thin body with spicy yeast, sweetness, sour green apple, some tartness, and fermented cherry. finishes with dry tartness and spices hanging on the taste buds for a minute. an interesting and unique brew that grew on me as the bottle was enjoyed.
