Commercial Description:
This is a delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own.
Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

Clear golden color with a soft white head, good retention and lacing. Aromas of hay, lemon, must, cantelope, honeydew, and some pears. Grassy and musty at the beginning but some of the fruits mentioned in the aroma join in shortly thereafter. Earthy and fruity in the finish. Medium carbonation and body. Another great Saison from Fantome.

From a 750-ml bottle--Poured a bright golden-amber body with a big, bouncy white head. Yeasty, hoppy, earthy nose. Lost of natural spiciness. No way is this 8% ABV. Smooth, crisp and well balanced.

750 bottle capped and corked shows little carbonation and virtually no head at all. color is a lightly hazed caramel amber. aroma has sweet tartness, yeast spice, light hay, and must. nose is nice to take in developing more fruit. taste is initially on the tart and acidic side but after a few sips sets in. thin body with spicy yeast, sweetness, sour green apple, some tartness, and fermented cherry. finishes with dry tartness and spices hanging on the taste buds for a minute. an interesting and unique brew that grew on me as the bottle was enjoyed.

Poured from the bottle and revealed was a plentiful white head. Light gold in color. Smells of spice and funky yeast.Very smooth and creamy in your mouth. Nice sweetness with an underlay of slight sourness. Some spicy saison flavors. Very good interesting finish. Good unique brew.

Bottle. 75cl. [As Fantôme]. Unclear medium yellow - orange color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, citrus, apple, pineapple, tropickal fruits, sour - sweet fruity. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and bitter, sour with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (280208)

750 ml bottle, very little carbonation behind the cork, pours with a light head, minimal lacing. Smells predominantly of strawberries, followed by ripe pineapple and apricot. Taste is tangy, not quite sour, fruity, almost like a reisling wine. No alcohol vapors evident. Drinkable and nice.

Bottle poured into my Duval tulip produced a wonderful hazy apricot colored body topped off with a short lived white bubbly head Aromas of funk, fruit (oranges strawberries and bananas) and spice fill your nose. Wow this is a fun beer Flavor on this one is a bit sour which is to be expected but you get apple oranges and a ton of fruit grant you the flavors are not for everyone but I like it Mouthfeel is clean and light the carbonation is all but nonexistent Very drinkable made me wish for summer will grab another one for sure
