COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a tremendously delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own.
Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

From the Bottle at the Falling Rock Tap House, Denver 26/09/2009 Big hop aroma. Golden coloured slightly sour and strong in alcohol with a little bitterness in a very dry finish.

750mL Bottle, purchased at Wakefield Liqours - Wakefield, RI.This beer pops with a delicious swamp of apple-filled corkiness. Rich cellar character gives way to a bit of Brett-like funk and a kiss of shimmering hops. Comes in a very effervescent pale gold, with a billowing fine white head. Flavor reveals richer and more satisfying malt complexity. Bright, snappy and spicy yeasts compliment the cellar-like nose. Oh so fresh and drinkable. Crispy. Very dry, but holding satisfying character. As a standard measurement of the style, it exceeds my expectations and is absolutely stunning. I’ll drink anything Fantome brews. Long live the white ghost!

Golden pour, tons of carbonation, tons of fluffy white head...great amount of yeast, funk, and citrus...perfect for a hot summer day

Reviewed 8/21/2009 (Bottle BB ??/??, cork 086/477044): Pours a very cloudy dark yellow, almost orange but not quite, color body. With a big creamy white head, lasting. Muted, musty aroma, fruity and sweet spicy. Maybe some plasticy. Soft taste, very muted, very light tasting. Some light fruitniness. Very light taste, drying. Almost watery. Thirst quenching, would be good on a hot day. Almost a plasticy taste. Just okay, not the greatest, not much flavor to speak of.

Bottle. Hazy orange pour with a thin off-white head. Malty and fruity aroma with a bit of tartness. Malty and yeasty flavor up front with some tart orange, a bit of apple and some hops in the finish.

750ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) - shared by Mirjukka and Janne - thanks!
Chalky sweet aroma - US smarties or EU refreshers. Orange, small head. Massively crisp citrus taste. Finish is rubbery. Aroma develops toffee as it warms, or even fudge, vanilla fudge at that. Carbonation was crisp. Taste definitely combines both crisp citrussy elements and sweet toffeeness - very nice. There are even some honey retronasals a few times. Slightly acidic, and very nice. And I need to say fudge at lease once more.
