mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Jun 15, 2007 Pours a cloudy golden orange with a medium white head. Wow, this beer smells good. Orange peel, wierd spices, earthiness, and citrus fruits. Fantastic. The taste has nice orange or tangerine flavor to it. The spices really come into play in the finish, as its all fruit up front. Very earthy too. Extremely refreshing taste. This one ranks very high on my favorite saison list and is near the top of my favorite Fantome brews. Another awesome product from these guys. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England Jun 13, 2007 750ml bottle. Pours hazy gold with a large white head that subsides. Lovely aroma of lemons and spices. The flavour follows the same themes - it starts sweet and then a sourness develops. The finish is somewhat bitter and nicely long-lasting. Overall, very smooth and easy to drink, with the strength nicely disguised. Very refreshing and an excellent example of the style. TheEpeeist (1427), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 12, 2007 25.4 oz bottle. Hazy gold with a brief white head. Tart apple-pear-peach and clover. Bright and fresh with a slight earthiness. I’ve been craving a Fantôme since a mini-binge a few weeks ago and this fits the bill nicely. Gentle apricot-mandarin sourness with spritzy carb. Finishes with a honey lemon pucker. A benchmark saison for sure. tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jun 7, 2007 Bottle (750ml) shared at ’Biegaman’s Summer Gathering’ -- courtesy of grub. Floral yeasty aroma. Cloudy medium yellow, medium white head. Sharp taste - yeast, lemon, light malt. Refreshing. Good stuff - classic saison here. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 7, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours a cloudy pale golden with a large white head. Aroma of sweetness, fruit, citrus and spices. The flavor is sweet, lemony, spices galore, citrusy hops, and finishes bitter. Good brew. glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA Jun 7, 2007 On tap at Stumbling Monk. Cloudy golden blond. Good head. Fantastic spicy floral hop taste similar to Orval. Very refreshing....a little bit of citrus. High carbonation that lightens it up despite the alcohol content. Lovely. goozen (1061), Leiden, Netherlands Jun 3, 2007 Bottle 0,75ltr at Kafe België, Utrecht: They billed this beer as Triple, an hazy yellow citric tasting Saison. blankboy (3156), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 29, 2007 Bottle (750ml) shared at ’Biegaman’s Summer Gathering’ -- courtesy of grub. Pours a cloudy yellow with an average size lasting white head. Aroma of citrus, light funky yeast and mild spices. Flavour of slightly sour fruit, yeast, malt, spices (pepper) and light hops. Dry finish. Medium bodied. Pretty good stuff, very easy to drink but less adventurous then most other Fantomes.
