Commercial Description:
This is a delicious, textural, and fizzy county ale, bright gold colour, citric and sour, reminiscent of a good champagne or lambic but in a class all its own.
Fantôme – Golden ale, 8% alc. by volume, with a wonderfully musty and characterful aroma. There are many drinkers out there who believe this is the “Nectar of the Gods.” Certainly no other brewer makes beer like this, in Belgium or anywhere. How many beers of 8% plus offer such fresh fruitiness? A solid Belgian saison beer at its base, with an unusual overlay of fruitiness.

Cloudy light amber color. Poor aroma, sour, wheat. Quite pleasant taste, but I don’t like too much the sourness. Bitter final, but not enough aromatic.

Hazy yellow color; big frothy head; turbolent perlage. Sour aroma, with a wood touch (because of the cork) and magnesia (because of the high carbonation). Quite dry, but with a correct body, and a light pleasant sourness.

Bottle at Copenhagen Beermarathon 2004: Cloudy yellow/orange, with a thin white head. Aroma is quite powerfull with notes of fig and strawberries. Taste is likewise fruity, almost like a fruit beer. This beer was a wonderfull surprise

(750ml bottle) Pours a murky light golden body with a medium-sized white head. Aroma of grapefruit, lemon, strong lime, fresh cut grass, heavy yeast, and mustiness. Flavor of yeast, citrus, and spices.

750 ml bottle. Golden with a white head, cloudy with floaties. Aroma of funk, yeast, cheese, and stale hops, or are the stale hops and cheese the same? Flavor of thick malt and sharp hops. Orange peel. A touch of sweetness and funk. Decent and fun cold weather sipping brew.
