Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England Aug 5, 2004 Bottled conditioned at the Great British Beer Festival, Kensington Olympia, London. (Thursday Session). Very nice saison with vanilla, ice cream and strawberry notes. thedm (3833), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 2, 2004 This bottled capped and corked brew poured a large sized head of white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a good lacing. The body was slightly hazy softly carbonated and yellow in color. It had a floral aroma and a mouth feel that was tingly and somewhat smooth initially then smoothened in the finish. It had a nice Belgian Saison flavor which was fruity doughy and contained bread and banana notes. Gazza (721), Worcester, Worcestershire, England Aug 2, 2004 Yellow colour, with a complex nose of herbal hops, pears and wheatiness. The flavour is grainy, wheaty and dry with a pronounced mown grass hop tang and more apple/pear esters. The finish is increasingly dry and wheaty with more herbal hops showing. Better than I remembered it from last time (Bottle from Bacchanalia, Cambridge) BennyTicklez (621), USA Jul 31, 2004 Interesting stuff. Pours hazy golden with a big white head. Taste is somewhat similar to Unibroue Ephemere, but more citrus, and lighter. High carbonation. Good stuff. barenada (211), Georgetown, Indiana, USA Jul 26, 2004 The beer that got me to finally appreciate Belgian brews. Apples were strong but not overpowering. DrGonzo (625), Somerville, Massachusetts, USA Jul 17, 2004 The cork exploded out of the bottle, and then so did the foam. Pours a bright murky orange color with a large white head, lacing the whole glass. Aroma is dominated by apples, barnyard funk, hints of bleu cheese. Medium body, soft and smooth, acidic, green apples, peppery, juicy. Very nice. MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Jul 17, 2004 Cloudy and hazy bright golden-orange color, huge frothy clingy off white head that leaves a sticky lacing in the glass that lasts, fruity citrus and yeasty aromas. Fruit and peppery spicy flavors with some sourness. Medium bodied with a crisp, carbonated mouthfeel, I can’t believe the ABV is 8%, very drinkable. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA Jul 16, 2004 Bottle. Medium sized white head and fine-medium sized bubbles that were mostly lasting. Aroma was malty and spicy with a light acidic, astringent, malty and spicy flavor. Mouthfeel was tingly. Medium bodied beer with fair lacing.
