AskForJenny (626), Ontario, New York, USA May 15, 2009 0.75l - Predominantly the flavors of mint, on nose and on palate. The internal glow, the cloudiness, the meringue head, all spectacular. Ljunkan (379), Karlstad, Sweden Apr 26, 2009 Bottled sample, thanks to andersand. Nice orange color with a white head. Aroma is fruity and invting: there’s notes of berries (raspberries?), some light funk and orange. Flavour is fruity with some nice berry-notes, some funk, and a balanced acidity. Dry finish. Very refreshing but at the same time complex, there’s probably more stuff in there. Glad I tried this... paytoplay (121), , California, USA Apr 23, 2009 Very refreshing. Heard this is made with whatever fruit is ripe at the time of the batch? This one seemed to have peach and pear, nice acidity. Rockin on a hot day. Not sure saison’s in general ever get as good as Fantome Saison. zach8270 (2051), Henrietta, New York, USA Apr 18, 2009 (bottle - corked and capped 750 ml) Amber color with a big and fizzy white head. Aroma is very earthy and funky with a lot of ester notes, apples. and some pears. Flavor is dry and slightly sour at the beginning with a good apple and pear hint near the middle. Finishes very dry with lots of fruity notes. Pwn3d (1036), Manhattan, New York, USA Mar 25, 2009 Bottle courtesy of DeputyAndy. Smells of apples and funk. Peppery and refined sediments. Taste is of sour pears. Milky mouth feel. Basically every fruit is detectable if you really look for it. An excellent use of saltiness (rarely done well IMO), sourness and also sweet! Very well thought out and well crafted brew lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 18, 2009 Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks! Pours bright orange and glowing with a thin head. Smell is fruity, strawberries and yeast with funkiness. Taste is spiced, coriander, faint strawberry fruitiness, and some cherry perhaps too. Medium body and soft carbonation. Definitely a unique Saison and enjoyable. MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Mar 15, 2009 Updated: May 21, 2009750ml bottle. Pours a cloudy, pale yellow with a white head. Nose was slight skunk, orange peel and funky barnyard. Taste was like alka seltzer in soda water. Some really sweet orange and lemon soda water. Mouthfeel is tart and fizzy with lots of carbonation and a dry aftertaste. A little disappointed as I had been wanting to try this for some time and it didn’t measure up to what I was expecting.
