Aroma is lightly floral, with some citrus and Belgian spices. Taste is crisp, yet very balanced. Orange peel, coriander, cloves. Light amount of yeast. Nice finish of citrus and vinous fruits. Smooth. Very tasty. JAXSON (235), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 3, 2009 750ml botlle, says "Bier Artisinale Sur Lie" on it. Hazy apricot pour with a creamy, medium head that sticks around. Really nice on the nose -- there is a spicy kick of saison-type yeast, something like candied citrus fruits, espeically oranges, and a healthy sour edge. Some ripe apples in the nose. Beautiful. Flavor is a bit of a hybrid between a typical farmhouse saison and a yeasty strong belgain ale with a sour edge. Nice. Kick of hops on the finish. There’s an element of stewed peaches in here that’s really refreshing. This is not unlike Bullfrog Unique Singel in it’s distinctive tart edge, especially the peaches bit. Awesome brew, probably underrated. Thanks to Pranerafox! SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | May 24, 2009 Pours out a murky golden/slightly orange color with a small white head. Aroma fruity and citrusy with some interesting earthy notes in there too. Taste is complex with a lot going on. Tart apple, floral notes, citrus, grain, funk and some other dry notes also. This was very interesting, and once again a very solid offering from Fantome. yemenmocha (354), Glendale, Arizona, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2009 Pours hazy golden color with generous white head. Nose is citrusy (perhaps lemon and orange peel), bile, peachpit. Mixed herbs/spices in there too. Palate is slightly sour, good wheaty malt flavor, and rounds out nicely on the finish. Very drinkable and refreshing like a Hefe-Weizen. Though this is the Hiver (winter) beer, it would be equally welcome in the summer months. AskForJenny (632), Ontario, New York, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 26, 2009 Bottled sample, thanks to andersand. Nice orange color with a white head. Aroma is fruity and invting: there’s notes of berries (raspberries?), some light funk and orange. Flavour is fruity with some nice berry-notes, some funk, and a balanced acidity. Dry finish. Very refreshing but at the same time complex, there’s probably more stuff in there. Glad I tried this... paytoplay (123), , California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2009 Very refreshing. Heard this is made with whatever fruit is ripe at the time of the batch? This one seemed to have peach and pear, nice acidity. Rockin on a hot day. Not sure saison’s in general ever get as good as Fantome Saison.
