Nov 30, 2008 750ml 2006 bottle consumed for Thanksgiving 2008. Pours an effervescent golden with a head of mixed-size white bubbles. The aroma is really fantastic with some fruit, like apples and pears with a touch of funkiness to it. The flavor reveals some of the grassy hoppiness and more of the fruit character. Nice carbonation... really a fantastic beer that I am going to look for again and again.

Nov 19, 2008 750 ml bottle bought many days ago in Sams in Chicago. Pours a bright orange color with a thick and bubbly white head. The aroma is awesome; some spices and yeast, but the dominant aroma is dried and pungent apples and lots of pears. Very nice. The taste is very nice also; a fizzy and lively mix of yeast, apples, light spices, some citrus and pear, and a slightly dry finish. Very nice. I enjoyed this one a lot, especially the aroma.

Oct 30, 2008 Pours hazy gold, with minimal head. Smell is bretts, funky farmhouse, pears and citrus. Smells sour even! Flavor is strangely cheesey - but more in a gorgonzola type flavor than an isolveric cheesiness. Lots of musty notes in this one.

Oct 25, 2008 Tasting at the McBackus Backyard Bash. Thanks to Solan for this 5 year old gem! Cloudy dark yellow gold pour. Aroma is pepper, grapefruit and a pungent sourness all blending seamlessly together, not overpowering, but more intoxicating than anything. Smooth sweet citrus taste with hints of floral herbs and little bits of peppery spice on the finish. Everything is just working with this beer and is exactly what you are looking for when you buy a bottle with the word Saison on it. Awesome.

Oct 21, 2008 What a beer! Pours hazy gold, minimal head, slightly fizzy, nice lacing. Aroma of grape juice, hay and grass. Flavor is nice and understated... nice spice at the end. Smooth drinking, medium to light body, absolutely perfect saison... went great with my lunch of salami, cheese and fruit.

Oct 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy orange yellow body with a big crisp champagne rocky head. Lots of spices cinnamon predominating. Citrus and lemon and lightly acidic. Some hop character with a solid etoh kick. Awesome beer.

Oct 7, 2008 Shorts tasting with The Club and a few more. Pours a very hazy orange with a tiny white head. Smells of wheat. Low sourness Aromas of wheat and sour saison. Hints of leather, wienerbrød and dust. Also hints of honey and flowers. Light bodied. Mellow dry finish.

Poured a hazy copper orange color with a thick light beige head that slowly receded to a layer and left thick sheets of lacing. Aroma of lightly funky yeast with a nice fruitiness including orange, apricot and tangerine as well as berry with some light barnyard character and a bit of straw and wheat. Sweet, lightly tart entry with some fruity undertones of orange, green apple, tangerine, and some moderate cranberry like tartness with some funky barnyard yeast finishing moderately dry with some dry yeast and light straw in the background and undertones of fruit. Crisp on the palate, the finish was nice and dry.
