Bottle, 12/31/2013. Pours cloudy, milky orange, fizzy white head dies to a haze on the surface, nice ring of lacing around the glass. Aroma is toasted amber malts, honeyed bread, candied fruit cocktail, herbal finish. Taste is sweet toasted malts, hard fruit candy, lots of pepper and spices, bitter herbal finish accentuated by booze. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel. Decent.

Bottle shared by Joes @ weekly tasting. A bit unclear amber color, full sized white head. Not a lot of aroma, maybe some spices. Could be too cold. Taste malts, sweetness, lightly alcohol, a hint of herbs or spices. Decent body and carbonation. Well, it’s one of the best Fantomes I’ve ever had.

Bottle. Dark hazy copper pour with bubbly white head. Aroma of caramel, intense boozy fruitiness, spicy, cinnamon, almond, marzipan. Taste is boozy, rich caramel flavors, vegetal notes, very leafy bitterness. Palate is heavy, good carbonation. Drinkability is not a strength here, way too heavy for school. Not nasty though, just probably won’t ever drink it again.

14/III/14 - 75cl bottle from Marlou (Zonhoven) @ home - BB: n/a (2014-283)

Clear dark orange to red beer, big fizzy crackling off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit sourish, bretta, pretty floral, rose petals, Turkish delight, bit dirty. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: weird, bit sourish, honey, floral, very floral even, bit sweet. Aftertaste: sugary, honey, bit dirty, floral again. Nope, it’s either hit or miss with Fantôme and this is a miss for me.

Rating #1100. 75cl bottle. Shared with Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: clouded blond beer, small stable off white head. GUSHER! NOSE: fruity, herbs, nice! TASTE: fruity, herbs, little hoppy. In total, absolutely weird nose and taste, but rather like it!
