The pour is amber in color with a tall, tan head. A light tartness of lemon on the nose followed by some pepper and spicy coriander notes. Caramel sweetness is also there along with some white grape. The flavor is a touch boozy with some strong grape flavor, a hint of spice, and rather intense caramel. Not as bad as some of the series, but not as good as others, either.

750ml bottle at Fantome-a-thon 2012.

Pours dark brown, moderately hazy, very little head but still carbonated. This tastes like grapes, candy, a touch of roasted malt, chocolate, and a bit of oxidation. The best description I heard all night was "carmelized grapes" which is spot on. Not a favorite.

Sampled at the DC Local Tasting a 750ml bottle pours a gross looking, murky brown with some creamy beige head and floating chunks. Nose is weird, grassy, like a construction site, mustard powder, dill. Flavor is lightly sweet, vegetal, a little wood pulp. Medium bodied finish.

Bottle. Pours hazy light brown with thin off-white head. Aroma is sour fruit, cookie malt, and earthy notes. Flavor is malty - biscuit and cookie with some earthy undertones. Medium body, carbonation, and warmth.

750mL thanks to Travlr. Pours a very ugly muddy brown with thicker tan head. Nice retention but ugly color. Nose is spicy with odd umami seaweed and celery salt. Weird nose. Taste is odd. Mildly metallic and bitter with lots of pumpernickel bread and celery. Lemon in the finish. Odd stuff. Convoluted.

Bottle courtesy of me. Muddy variegated brown color, massive fluffy tan head. Aroma of pumpernickel and brown bread. Taste is smooth and slightly funky brown bad. Not bad.

murky nut brown, thin cream head. Nose is light construction, rind, nut and chocolate, bit minty and lemon-strong. Flavor is moderate Brett, light salt, bit of thin crackery finish. Fizzy body competes, all old flavors. Weird, too much contrast.
