schuimkroaat (389), Leuven, Belgium Sep 18, 2005 Brewed August 2005. 75 cl bottle. Colour somewhere between red brick and fallen autumn leaves, good haze, rich beige creamy head. Aroma of spinach and mint with yeast and spices. Malty taste with juicy background, immediately followed by strong pepper flavour and peppery-hoppy aftertaste. Thick body, lively carbonation. Tastes raw; I’ll age a second bottle - I’m curious what will come of it.
duff (5407), Sydney, Australia, Surrey, England Feb 15, 2007 Bottle. Spicy aroma, i couldn’t think of the spice, definitely herbal and spicy though. Some corky aromas and flavours come through. Some subtle hints of pepper and coriander. Yeasty, citric finish, which is long and quite dry. Very nice. harrisoni (5608), Ashford, Kent, England Sep 22, 2006 Bottle at LCRBM 2006. Cloudy brown colour with a meaty aroma. Nice in mouth, some soft fruit, yeasty full in mouth. Just got some choc and this is really good, wish I could describe it better. diabel (1213), Aarschot, Belgium Sep 19, 2006 Bottle at LCRBM 2, Kulminator, Antwerp, Belgium
Muddy brown body. Aroma of hops and spices. Moderately bitter flavour, somewhat refreshing. Bart (1500), Vosselaar, Belgium Sep 13, 2006 hazy brown coloured with a small off white head. Very strong fruity (lemons) herby aroma. Strong roasted taste. Full body. Long herby bitter-hoppy finish. Not bad at all, but very herby overall. bierkoning (5134), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 11, 2006 LCRBM2: Coreander and lemon in the aroma. Very herbal, just a bit hopbitter and fruity flavor. Sometimes too much added herbs kill a beer. In this beer this is almost the case.
