Patterned after the rich, smooth, malty ales of Scotland, Stoneís Throw is dominated by caramel toffee, toasty malt, hints of cocoa, residual honey sweetness and just enough hops to keep this rock on the button. The perfect brew for someone new to craft beer. Cheers, skip!

Can at home. Pour is hazy amber with a small white head and decent lacing. Tangy, husky, corny, somewhat caramelly, bready, and grainy aroma. Taste is brown sugar, grains, husky, bready, slightly sweet, straw, and caramel. Slick mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Meh.

12 oz. can. It pours a dark reddish brown color with a disappearing khaki head. The aroma is interesting and rich with plum, fig, dates, honey, toffee and light notes of cocoa. The flavor is light and a bit watery with some plum, honey and hints of roast before a thin, carbonic finish. Not bad, but it couldíve benefited from more residual malt sugars.

Not the greatest aroma on the open, but not offensive either. Just malty. Lots of caramel in this one, with a bunch of malt and sweetness. Isnít a style I typically enjoy, and this one doesnít do anything for me either. I donít get as much booze off of it as Iíd thought to expect. Just sweet molasses on the finish.
