Bottle thanks to BVery! Clear golden pour, 1/2 inch head and an aroma light pears and hops. Flavor is light hops, light white fruits, a bit of bready malt. Not bad. I’d probably pick this up if the price was right.

Tap - good size foamy head, medium gold color, nice grapefruit hop aroma and flavor, some earthy hop notes at he end - not the best IPA but certainly not bad

Bottle. Fairly nondescript aroma. Not faint, just a very typical, beery aroma. Very slightly hazy. Lasting off-white head. Excellent lace. Dark gold body. Initial mouthfeel is a bit of an astringent alcohol aspect. Had a half bottle of this last night and really liked it. Tonight I’m scrutinizing it a little more. Doesn’t have a perfumy or floral hop flavor like most of the great IPAs. This beer is solid, but not a stand out. That said, I like any beer with "Wood" in the name.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jake65 (2334) - Williston, North Dakota, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Bottle: Medium depth golden orange, translucent, and quite a bit of creamy white head. Nose is sweet and minimally hoppy. Citrus, tropical fruits, and caramel. Picking up a little bit of grain too. Nice flavor from a more floral hops beginning, into light citrus and a soothing malt backbone. Not a lot of bitterness. Seems akin to an APA rather than IPA, but I like the intention here... good flavor overall, refreshing, and very approachable. Probably not going to get much love on RB, but this is a big step for craft beer in North Dakota.

UPDATED: APR 28, 2013 Bottle. Orange to amber pour, smaller head. Slightly dank, mild grapefruit, some caramel malt. Just okay.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Kobal (58) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Slightly hazy golden color, with a bright white head. Nose is sweet fruit, maybe strawberry, with a little butterscotch and a mild hop note backing it up. Somewhat creamy body with mild hop notes. Slightly sweet berry flavors followed by a dry grain. Tasty and interesting, but I wouldn’t peg this as an IPA, especially from an American brewer. Hoppiness is too low, more in line with a pale ale.

A bit rough.

Finally, a North Dakota beer! All 50 States + DC! All hail me! Huzzah! The beer itself is orange with a sizable off-white head. Smells a bit sweet, actually, like caramel and a bit of brown sugar, then I get piney hops. Taste is more malt forward than I like, but still tasty (did I just say this beer has tasty taste?). Piney, woody hops mixed with brown sugar and graham cracker. Some off, stale flavors as it warms. Not horrible, just enough to note. Thanks to schmidtguy for the trade!
