Dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is a little dry and crispy. Super mild dark malt, mellow roast and a whisper of smoke. Minerals. Subtle fruits underneath and a trace of caramel. A little hop bitterness in the crispy finish. Mild dark chocolate. Well joined up. Best thing from Farmers in a while.

(Bottle). Opaque, dark brown. Thin, brown head. Mid-light carb. Aroma is malt - very chocolatey malt, with a very faint vegetable edge, but not off-putting. Creamy, heavy, full body. Starts slight sweet, with well-rounded malt flavours; chocolate, bit licorice and some slight roasted notes to balance it out. Not that sweet for a mild though. Then moves on, briefly, to some decent, spicy, english hop flavours, with a little bit of bitterness and some chocolate left on the tongue. Taste is dominated by malts. Quite well-rounded and drinkable for a mild. Mellow, smooth and quite tasty.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’12. Dark Brown with cream head. Heavy, dark chocolate malts, bittering, a good dose of liquorice, drying full maltiness and eases into a smooth finish. Lingering and pretty decent.
