UPDATED: JUL 16, 2006 Golden/Blonde ale. Cask conditioned Chelmsford beer festival, 2006. Blonde. Fruity malt and slightly lemony. An odd salty/savoury character to it. A strange beer.

Cask (handpump) at Great British Beer Festival, day 4 on 5 August 2011. Gold colour. Dry with biscuity malt up front. A little grassy with a twist of citrus. Clean and refreshing.

Cask@GBBF2011. Deep golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, caramel, some wood and mild grassy notes. Flavour is leathery, wooden, fruity, mildly toasted and earthy.

Dull aroma, some fruits. Gold. Wooly retronasals. Enormously fleshy-fruit malt and hop combination. Full palate. Great tingly finish. Nice golden.

Cask at GBBF 2011, Wednesday. Clear golden - white head. Herbal, tea, fruity, toasted, ok hoppy, medium malty, light bitterness, grassy, straw notes.

From cask. Pours cloudy orange with a small white and creamy head. Aroma is mild fruity and toasted malty. Bitter, malty and light toasted. Bitter and light malty finish.

Clear golden coloured with a small white head.
Fruity aroma of hops, grass and citrus.
Fruity flavour of hops, grass and citrus.
Dry hoppy finish.

10th July 2008. Slightly cloudy golden beer. Sweet malty start - fruity hop finish. Unidentified tang - possibly the shellfish? Refreshing.

Cask gravity @ The Blue Boar Hotel, Maldon, CM9. Clear dark golden yellow color with a small viritually none off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty and hoppy, flowers, citrus, toffee. Initial flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter, finish flavor is moderate sweet and bitter, with a long duration. Nice bitter finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat.

A Sim rate (cask at Chelmsford BF): Smells citric and slightly malty. Tastes unlike mussels. A bit like playdoh, but surprisingly refreshing with it. Aroma is much like Belgo’s thai mussels and that can only ever be a good thing!

Cask@Chelmsford Beer Festival. Brewed with shellfish, so not a good start. Not sure it did anything for the flavour, except for maybe a slight saltyness. Quite limey and citric, and, well, pretty bland.
