Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’12. Very dark brown with cream head. Initially quite thin on the palate but this develops as you go through the beer, there is a fruity, roasted malt element that adds depth, a hint of charcoal, still light maybe. Short on the finish. An ok beer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - MAR 2, 2008
Gravity cask at the Battersea Beer Festival, 7th Feb 2008. Looks and smells great - very dark brown, almost black with a toffee and coffee nose. Mainly tastes of roasted malt and milk chocolate with an iron note (see their Drop of Nelson’s Blood). Palate is a bit flat and a touch too light for my liking, so it doesn’t quite fulfil the promise of the excellent aroma.

A Mes rate: Gravicask at Battersea Beer Festival. Murky black brown with a thin tan rim. Sweet berry fruit with some smoky malt and coffee. Pretty standard really. Really nice very dry roasty / toasty finish. A little thin in the mouth but not bad on the whole.

Cask handpull at The Wenlock Arms, London. Black, lasting tan creamy head. Creamy choccy porter, moderate coffee. Nice smokey choc aroma, some juicyness in mouth. Bitter choc finish. Really good 4.1% choccy porter, bitterness on end is quite intense. Lovely lacing in glass.
